About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever thought about spending your days in the company of rescued furry friends while making a real difference? We're on the lookout for a dedicated Housemaid/Animal Care Assistant for our private villa–slash–animal shelter, nestled in the heart of Al Rawda, Ajman. This isn’t just any housekeeping role; it’s a chance to be part of something truly meaningful, surrounded by a team that values compassion just as much as a sparkling clean room.
About the Company
We’re not your usual household. Our villa doubles as a safe haven for cats and dogs who’ve been through tough times. The heart of our mission? Every animal deserves a second chance. The team here is small, close-knit, and genuinely passionate—there’s always a warm welcome (and often a wagging tail or two) waiting for you each morning. We champion empathy and trust, whether it’s our Friday teatime with the team or our tradition of celebrating every "happy adoption story" together.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keep cat rooms, houses, beds, and litter areas clean, cozy, and safe for our four-legged residents
- Carry out daily housekeeping for the villa: sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, and organizing shared spaces
- Notice when supplies (like cleaning sprays or cat litter) are running low, so we never get caught short
- Lend a hand with simple routines like feeding, changing water, or comforting a nervous rescue
- Spot any issues with cleanliness or animal well-being and flag them to the team right away
- Bring empathy and patience to all you do—especially when cleaning around anxious or vulnerable animals
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves
- Good spoken English—able to understand instructions and communicate clearly
- Experience with general cleaning or housework, and a keen eye for detail
- Genuine love and respect for animals (cats and dogs especially)
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual with an honest approach to work
- Ability to work the full shift, 8 am to 8 pm, live-out
Nice-to-Haves
- Previous experience in an animal shelter, clinic, kennel, or as a pet owner
- Basic knowledge of safe cleaning methods around animals
- Calm nature; not easily startled by playful paws or meows
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
