About Us
We’re a small, close-knit household — two busy parents and one lively, kind-hearted child. Our apartment is cozy but welcoming, with everyone pitching in to make it a happy, respectful space. Mealtimes are special for us: sharing stories over homemade dishes helps us feel rooted, even far from relatives. While weekdays fly by with work and school, we always make time for simple joys, whether it's baking together or helping our son practice English words. We value kindness, respect, and a sense of humor — and, yes, we really CAN tell when a room has been cleaned with care!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keeping our 2-bedroom apartment sparkling clean and well-organized — from the living room to the little corners
- Mastering laundry and ironing, so everyone leaves home looking sharp (we swear our son’s uniform is a lint-magnet!)
- Caring for our 8-year-old: preparing schoolbag, supervising play, and sometimes listening to endless stories about superheroes
- Preparing home-style meals, with a special knack for pizza, croissants, fatayer, and pasta (we’re always open to new recipes!)
- Managing grocery lists and helping keep the kitchen tidy and well-stocked
- Creating a calm, positive atmosphere — with gentle discipline and lots of encouragement for our son
- Occasionally helping with small errands or other family needs as they come up
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- You already have your own valid ID (essential for this live-in role)
- Basic spoken English — enough to understand and be understood, especially by our son!
- Experience in housekeeping, ironing, and childcare for school-aged kids
- The ability — and joy — in cooking bakery favorites and pasta dishes
- Politeness, respectfulness, and a genuinely clean approach to your work
- Willing to live in (private bedroom included) and be available most days
- Priority for Muslim applicants, helping us keep shared values in the home
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with Ethiopian family culture — but open to anyone eager to make a positive difference
