About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it’s like to truly make a difference in someone’s daily life? We’re searching for a caring, trustworthy Nanny to join a welcoming family in Abu Dhabi, right in the heart of Al Karamah. This unique role is ideal for someone who loves being around children, finds joy in the little things, and is ready for the adventure that comes with becoming an integral part of a household. The position starts as part-time in August — so, if you’re looking to transition to full-time work soon, this might just be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

About the Family

Picture a warm, tight-knit household where laughter is common and genuine care counts for everything. The family values honesty, patience, and a gentle touch with their little one, and they look forward to welcoming an energetic nanny who feels more like a trusted friend than just hired help. Here, communication is open and kindness goes both ways — you might even find yourself included in family meals or celebratory moments. Flexibility and sincerity are celebrated, and after a couple of months, you’ll really feel at home (literally — this is a live-in role after the initial period).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ensuring the baby’s safety and comfort throughout the day (your number one priority!)
  • Preparing bottles and feeding the baby on a regular schedule
  • Handling daily hygiene tasks, such as changing diapers, bathing, and keeping play areas tidy
  • Lending a hand with light cooking, especially meals related to the baby’s needs (don’t worry, you won’t need chef-level skills)
  • Flexibly responding to the family’s needs — each day can bring something a little different
  • Transitioning to a full-time, live-in role after the initial trial period (so being adaptable is key)

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Previous experience caring for infants or young children — even if informal
  • A genuine love of children, paired with warmth and patience
  • Willingness and ability to commit to full-time hours in Al Karamah, Abu Dhabi
  • Readiness to take on a live-in arrangement after a successful trial period
  • Reliable, communicative, and able to work with minimal supervision

Nice-to-Haves

  • Basic cooking skills (simple, healthy meals)
  • Some English or Arabic language skills for easy communication
  • Flexibility when family routines change (it happens!)

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Clear, consistent schedule with a gradual transition to full-time responsibilities
  • Competitive, reliable monthly pay — AED750 during part-time and AED1700 once you become full time
  • Opportunity to build a trusting, long-term relationship with one loving family (no juggling multiple homes)
  • After the first months, accommodations provided for a genuine live-in role
  • Safe, convenient location in Al Karamah, Abu Dhabi
  • Respectful, caring environment where your efforts genuinely matter

If you want a role where you can settle in, grow into your routine, and really become part of a family story, this could be your next step.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Tell me about your previous experience caring for infants or young children. What ages have you worked with, and what did a typical day look like for you?
  • How do you make sure a baby is safe and comfortable throughout the day, especially when routines can change?
  • Walk us through how you would prepare a bottle and schedule feedings for a baby who’s not yet on solids.
  • If the baby becomes fussy or upset, what steps do you take to calm and soothe them?
  • How would you approach cleaning and keeping the play or feeding areas orderly while also tending to the baby’s needs?
  • Can you give an example of a time when you had to adapt quickly to a last-minute change in a family’s plans or routine? How did you handle it?
  • Describe a situation where you had to balance several tasks at once — for example, preparing a meal while the baby needed attention. How did you prioritize?
  • How do you maintain open and clear communication with parents about the child’s needs, development, or any concerns?
  • What would you do if you noticed something unusual about the baby’s health or behavior during your shift?
  • How do you build trust with a family so that they feel comfortable having you around their child and in their home?
  • This role eventually requires living with the family. How do you feel about transitioning from part-time to a full-time, live-in arrangement?
  • In your view, what does being “part of the family” mean, and what would help you feel at home in a new household?
  • How do you take care of yourself so you can stay patient, positive, and energetic around young children every day?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

This compensation is typical for part-time and entry-level nanny positions in Abu Dhabi, especially when transitioning to full-time, live-in arrangements. The progression from AED750 during the initial period to AED1700 per month reflects the increasing responsibilities and the added benefit of accommodation, which can significantly reduce your living expenses. This role is ideal for those seeking stability, personal connection, and opportunities for growth within a supportive, family-focused environment.
