About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever find yourself energized by being out and about—meeting new people, learning about their needs, and seeing the tangible results of your work rise up (quite literally) across the skyline? As an Outdoor Sales Representative with UK Roof Tiles, you won’t be stuck behind a desk. You’ll be the friendly face of our brand, bringing innovative, lasting roofing solutions to clients who appreciate reliability and quality—especially in a region where the weather can really put a roof to the test.

About the Company

UK Roof Tiles isn’t just a name on a product—it’s a team that takes pride in every single tile that leaves our facility. Based right in Umm Al Thoub, Umm Al Quwain’s New Industrial Area, we’re deeply ingrained in our community and our industry, known for pairing old-school craftsmanship with modern design. Our crew tends to get excited when a new building starts climbing the horizon, especially if it’s been topped with our tiles! While we move fast to keep up with a busy market, our team culture is grounded in respect, open conversation, practical results, and the occasional debate over the best tea for a long workday.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Visiting construction sites, contractor offices, and potential customer locations across the UAE—comfortable shoes are a must!
  • Building genuine relationships with builders, architects, and project managers to understand their needs and recommend the right roofing solutions.
  • Presenting and demonstrating our product range, including the nitty-gritty details (like why our concrete tiles stand up to the desert sun).
  • Responding quickly to inquiries, following up on leads, and managing your own schedule—self-motivation goes a long way here.
  • Collaborating closely with our support and logistics teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
  • Keeping your finger on the pulse of the local market—what’s trending in design, who’s breaking ground next, and where new opportunities could arise.
  • Representing UK Roof Tiles at industry events, site visits, and the occasional trade show (when there’s not a dust storm, of course).

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Previous experience in outdoor sales, ideally in construction materials or building supplies.
  • UAE driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the Emirates.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; being genuine goes a long way.
  • Persistence and independence—you can roll with a ‘not today’ and are always ready to try again tomorrow.
  • Decent fluency in English (and maybe a bit of Arabic; we’re not expecting poetry, just enough to get by).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with roofing products or construction basics—not strictly required, but it’ll help you hit the ground running.
  • Connections or network within the UAE’s construction sector.
  • A knack for creative problem-solving.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive tax-free salary (AED 2500 – AED 3000) with performance incentive potential.
  • Company vehicle or travel allowance—no worrying about racking up kilometers on your own car.
  • Supportive, straight-talking colleagues who like to share wins (and sometimes snacks).
  • On-the-ground training with plenty of chance to learn about materials and the industry.
  • Career progression opportunities as we grow our market presence.
  • Flexible, field-based work—you get to plan your day and get out into the real world.

Working with us, you’ll see your efforts quite literally shaping projects that matter—whether it’s a family home, a skyline-altering commercial space, or the next big industrial site. It’s hands-on, people-focused, and ideal for someone who thrives outside the office.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk me through your process for approaching a new construction site or prospective client for the first time?
  • What strategies have you found effective when presenting technical product details, such as roofing materials, to clients who may not have an engineering background?
  • Tell us about a time you had to manage multiple sales leads or site visits at once—how did you prioritize and ensure follow-ups were timely?
  • How do you keep track of market trends or upcoming projects in your territory, and how has that information influenced your sales approach?
  • What steps do you take to collaborate with logistics or support teams to guarantee smooth delivery and implementation for your clients?
  • Do you have experience representing a company at industry events or trade shows? If so, how did you prepare and what tactics helped you connect with potential customers?
  • Describe a challenging situation where a client initially declined your product. How did you handle the rejection, and were you able to engage them again later?
  • Give an example of how you used your network or industry connections within the UAE construction sector to generate a sales lead or resolve a problem.
  • When you encounter a customer need that doesn’t align perfectly with your current product offering, how do you approach problem-solving and proposing alternative solutions?
  • How do you stay self-motivated and energized during periods where “not today” seems to be the most common answer you’re hearing?
  • What’s your approach to building genuine, long-lasting relationships with contractors, architects, or project managers?
  • UK Roof Tiles values open conversation and respectful debate. Can you share a time you contributed to a team discussion or advocated for your perspective in a constructive way?
  • Working mostly out in the field means a lot of independence and flexibility. How do you make sure you stay organized and maintain accountability day-to-day?
  • Our team culture includes sharing wins (and snacks) and enjoying the process while working hard. What do you look for in a team environment
