Responsibilities

As a Washerman, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our laundry facility. Your core duties will include:

• Sorting and Classifying Laundry: Carefully sort laundry items by color, fabric type, and degree of soiling to prevent damage and ensure optimal cleaning results.
• Operating Washing Equipment: Utilize industrial and commercial washing machines, dryers, and related equipment, selecting appropriate cycles and detergents tailored to each load.
• Fabric Care: Apply specialized knowledge to treat different fabrics, ensuring delicate items are handled with care and robust materials are thoroughly cleaned.
• Quality Control: Inspect cleaned items for stains or damage, ensuring high standards are maintained before items are returned to customers.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain washing machines and other equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
• Adherence to Standards: Follow safety protocols and company guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and consistent service quality.
• Record Keeping: Log daily work activities, items processed, and any issues encountered to support operational efficiency.

Requirements

To excel in this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar laundry or washerman role, preferably in a commercial or hospitality setting.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of various washing equipment, cleaning agents, and fabric care practices.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify fabric types and select appropriate wash methods to avoid shrinkage, color bleeding, or fabric damage.
• Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
