Responsibilities

Your primary duties as a driver will include:

• Timely Deliveries: Transporting goods or passengers to designated locations promptly, ensuring strict adherence to delivery schedules.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspecting and maintaining the assigned vehicle, keeping it clean, fueled, and in optimal working condition. Reporting any issues or required repairs promptly.
• Road Safety Compliance: Observing all traffic laws, regulations, and company safety procedures to guarantee the safety of yourself, your vehicle, and others on the road.
• Route Familiarity: Utilizing your knowledge of Sharjah’s roadways to select optimal routes, avoid unnecessary delays, and ensure efficient trip planning.
• Documentation: Completing delivery logs, trip sheets, and any relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Professional Conduct: Demonstrating a courteous, respectful attitude towards customers, colleagues, and other road users at all times.
• Problem-Solving: Managing unforeseen issues on the road, such as traffic congestion or minor vehicle malfunctions, with a calm and resourceful approach.

Requirements

To excel in this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Valid Driver’s License: Possession of a current, valid driver’s license (UAE or equivalent) appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
• Experience: Previous experience as a professional driver, preferably within Sharjah or the wider UAE region.
• Road Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques.
• Punctuality: A strong track record of reliability and time management, with the ability to adhere to strict schedules.
• Professionalism: A neat appearance, positive attitude, and polite communication skills.
• Physical Fitness: The ability to sit for extended periods, load and unload goods if required, and perform basic vehicle checks.
• Local Route Knowledge: Familiarity with Sharjah’s main roads, landmarks, and traffic patterns is highly desirable.
• Language Skills: Basic proficiency in English or Arabic is an advantage for effective communication.
