Responsibilities

As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a vital role in keeping our fleet reliable and roadworthy. Your daily duties will include:

• Performing routine maintenance and comprehensive inspections on a variety of heavy vehicles, including trucks, buses, and specialized machinery.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conducting timely repairs or part replacements to minimize downtime and ensure vehicles comply with safety regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records of all services, repairs, and part replacements performed on each vehicle.
• Collaborating with other team members to troubleshoot complex issues and share best practices.
• Adhering to workplace safety protocols and ensuring all procedures are performed in compliance with industry standards.
• Keeping the workshop clean, organized, and well-stocked with essential tools and parts.
• Participating in routine safety briefings and ongoing technical training to stay updated with the latest repair techniques and vehicle technologies.

Requirements

To excel in this role, applicants should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, preferably with exposure to a range of commercial vehicle types.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to heavy vehicles.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and specialized repair machinery.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads and handle urgent repairs as needed.
• A relevant technical diploma or certification in automotive or heavy vehicle mechanics is highly desirable.
