Position Overview

Responsibilities

As a Bus Attendant, you will be entrusted with the important task of safeguarding students during their commute. Your role will include:

• Supervising students during all pick-up and drop-off times, ensuring they are accounted for and securely seated.
• Assisting students with boarding and leaving the bus, providing special help to younger children or those with additional needs.
• Maintaining order on the bus, encouraging respectful behavior and promptly addressing any concerns to prevent disruptions.
• Supporting special event transportation by accompanying students on field trips, extracurricular activities, or other off-campus engagements.
• Communicating effectively with school staff and parents, relaying any important information regarding student conduct, attendance, or incidents during transport.
• Conducting safety checks, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and that the bus environment remains clean and hazard-free.
• Responding to emergencies in a calm and efficient manner, administering basic first aid and following established procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Patience and a caring demeanor, essential for working with children of various ages and backgrounds.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attentiveness to detail, especially regarding student safety and punctuality.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling positive interactions with students, staff, and parents alike.
• Experience working with children or in a similar supervisory role is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful or emergency situations, demonstrating sound judgment at all times.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols and a willingness to participate in ongoing training sessions.
