About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it takes to leave your stamp on the urban landscape of the UAE? Here’s your chance. We’re on the lookout for a driven Civil Engineer—someone who isn’t just content ticking off boxes, but who takes real pride in seeing blueprints become reality. With the region’s rapid growth, this is more than a technical role: it’s a front-row seat to the future of infrastructure here.

About the Company

We’re a close-knit but ambitious group, driven by a shared love for excellent design and the sense of accomplishment that comes from turning plans into places people genuinely use. Whether we’re swapping project stories over coffee, or troubleshooting a last-minute site hiccup together, team spirit is woven into our daily work. Our company may be expanding fast, but Friday pizza lunches and celebrating team milestones (big and small) keep us grounded—and make us stronger.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing on-site construction and infrastructure projects across the UAE, ensuring everything matches high-quality standards and specified designs
  • Coordinating closely with architects, contractors, suppliers and government authorities
  • Monitoring daily progress, troubleshooting any hurdles, and pushing projects forward to meet key milestones without cutting corners
  • Reviewing structural plans, making sure they’re both buildable and compliant with all local safety regulations
  • Managing materials procurement and site documentation—because a project is only as strong as its paper trail
  • Conducting regular site inspections, quality checks, and safety briefings for on-site staff
  • Providing clear updates and insights to senior management, flagging risks or opportunities for improvement

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on civil engineering experience in the UAE (you know the local landscape and regulations like the back of your hand)
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Confidence navigating and interpreting construction drawings, structural plans, and local code requirements
  • Familiarity with site management, safety protocols, and supplier coordination
  • The ability to communicate fluently in English (Arabic is a bonus)
  • A collaborative, solutions-first mindset—because things rarely go exactly to script

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Knowledge of project management software (like Primavera or MS Project)
  • UAE driving license
  • Prior experience with large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities)

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary, plus annual bonus opportunities
  • Health insurance and regular team get-togethers—because trust and wellbeing go hand in hand
  • Hybrid working arrangements: site presence is key, but we value flexibility where possible
  • Generous leave policy and support for ongoing professional development
  • A team of friendly, talented colleagues (with a shared taste for strong coffee and efficient meetings)
  • Clear pathways for career growth as we continue to take on bigger and more ambitious projects

You’ll be part of a hardworking team that celebrates every milestone—not just the finish line. If you thrive amid challenges and want your efforts to directly shape the skylines of tomorrow, you’ll fit right in.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you describe a recent project where you oversaw on-site construction in the UAE? What challenges did you encounter with local regulations, and how did you address them?
  • When reviewing structural plans, what steps do you take to ensure both constructability and compliance with safety codes specific to the UAE?
  • How do you approach daily tracking of project progress and keeping all stakeholders—contractors, suppliers, architects—informed and aligned?
  • Have you used software like Primavera or MS Project to manage timelines or resources on large infrastructure projects? If so, what features proved most useful?
  • Can you walk me through your process for conducting effective site inspections and safety briefings with on-site teams?
  • Share an example of a time you identified a project risk early. How did you communicate it to senior management and what actions did you recommend?
  • Tell us about a situation when you had to coordinate between multiple parties under a tight deadline to keep a project moving.
  • Describe how you manage documentation and materials procurement to keep a project highly organized and audit-ready.
  • Site work can be unpredictable. How do you maintain momentum and team morale when a project hits an unexpected roadblock?
  • In your experience, what are the key differences in approach when managing road or utility infrastructure versus building construction projects?
  • Our team values open communication and mutual support. What role do you naturally play in collaborative environments?
  • Friday pizza lunches and celebrating small wins are part of our culture. What does a positive team environment look like to you, and how do you contribute to it?
  • Flexibility is important here—we combine site work with hybrid arrangements. How do you balance strong site presence with remote coordination and reporting?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

You should expect a salary of at least 10,000–15,000 AED per month for a Civil Engineer role with a few years of UAE experience, as similar positions in the local construction and infrastructure sector typically fall within this range. Candidates with strong site management skills, compliance expertise, and local project background—especially those familiar with government regulations and large-scale projects—may be able to negotiate towards the higher end of this bracket or beyond, depending on the exact scope and company size.
