About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it takes to turn an empty shell of a space into a finished, functioning environment people actually walk into and use? That's the daily reality for a Civil Site Supervisor at Karma Fitout Building Contracting LLC — and we're looking for someone who thrives on it. Based in Dubai, this role puts you at the heart of our fit-out projects, where your coordination skills and site leadership keep everything moving from drawing board to handover. If you've got solid UAE experience under your belt and you're ready to take ownership of a site, this could be your next move.

About the Company

Karma Fitout Building Contracting LLC is a Dubai-based contracting firm specialising in fit-out and civil construction work. We're a hands-on team — the kind of outfit where the project manager knows every worker by name and problems get solved on-site, not buried in email threads. We've built our reputation on delivering quality work on tight timelines, and we take pride in the fact that most of our business comes from clients who've worked with us before. It's a fast-paced environment, but a supportive one — we back our supervisors and give them the authority to run their sites properly.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take day-to-day charge of site activities, making sure work progresses on schedule and to the required standard
  • Coordinate and supervise site workers and subcontractors — assigning tasks, checking quality, and keeping everyone pulling in the same direction
  • Liaise between the project team, suppliers, and on-site trades so materials and manpower show up when they're needed, not a day late
  • Monitor workmanship against drawings and specifications, flagging issues early rather than discovering them at handover
  • Maintain daily site records, progress reports, and safety compliance — the paperwork matters as much as the build
  • Keep the site safe, organised, and running smoothly, because a chaotic site is a slow site

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • At least 4 years of UAE experience in civil construction or fit-out projects — you know how sites operate here, and the local supplier and subcontractor landscape isn't a mystery to you
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English, since you'll be reporting to management and coordinating with clients and trades alike
  • Proven ability to manage site workers and subcontractors — someone who commands respect on-site without needing to shout
  • Excellent site coordination skills and a genuinely responsible attitude toward timelines, quality, and safety

Nice-to-Haves:

  • A valid UAE driving licence
  • Familiarity with fit-out-specific trades like joinery, MEP coordination, or finishing works

Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — experience and attitude count for a lot in our book.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary based on your experience — we recognise what good supervisors are worth
  • Real responsibility from day one; you'll run your site, not just watch it
  • A supportive management team that responds when you raise an issue
  • Varied projects that keep the work interesting — no two fit-outs are the same
  • A collaborative, no-drama culture where good work gets noticed

We're not the biggest contractor in Dubai, and we're fine with that — it means you're a name here, not a number. If you're looking for a place where your site experience is valued and your judgement is trusted, you'll fit right in.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through how you typically plan a fit-out project from mobilisation to handover. What are the first things you lock down in the first week on site?
  • You notice a subcontractor's finishing work doesn't match the drawings, but they insist it's fine and the deadline is looming. How do you handle that?
  • How do you coordinate MEP and joinery trades so they're not stepping on each other's toes during a tight programme?
  • Tell me about a time a material delivery was delayed and it threatened your schedule. What did you actually do about it?
  • What does your daily site reporting routine look like — what do you record, and how do you make sure it's accurate rather than just filling a template?
  • Describe a situation where you had to push back on a project manager or client instruction because it wasn't practical on site. How did that go?
  • How do you keep a site safe and organised when you've got multiple trades working in a confined space?
  • Give me an example of a worker or subcontractor who wasn't performing. What steps did you take, and what was the outcome?
  • What's your approach to earning respect from site workers and subcontractors without resorting to shouting?
  • How do you prioritise when management wants progress updates, a supplier is chasing you, and there's a quality issue on the third floor all at once?
  • Tell me about a project that went wrong somewhere. What did you learn from it, and what would you do differently now?
  • What attracts you to a smaller contractor like ours rather than one of the big names in Dubai?
  • How do you like to be managed — and what would make you raise an issue with management rather than try to solve it quietly yourself?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a Civil Site Supervisor role in Dubai’s fit-out and civil construction sector, similar positions typically offer a monthly salary of around 8,000 to 12,000 AED, depending on your experience and the complexity of the projects. Given that this role asks for at least 4 years of UAE experience and real site leadership responsibility, you should expect a salary of at least 9,000 AED — and if you bring fit-out-specific skills like joinery or MEP coordination, it’s fair to push toward the 11,000–12,000 AED range. Since the company says the salary is competitive and based on experience, it’s worth discussing your UAE track record and site management strengths openly during negotiations.
