About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever wondered what keeps a busy logistics operation moving smoothly day after day? We're looking for a Transportation Officer who thrives on that challenge — someone who can keep fleets on schedule, drivers supported, and safety standards firmly in place. Based in Al Quoz, one of Dubai's most active industrial and logistics hubs, this role puts you right at the center of the action. If you enjoy solving problems before they become problems, this might be your kind of job.
About the Company
We're a well-established transportation and logistics company that has built its reputation on reliability — the kind that clients notice and stay for. Our team in Al Quoz runs a tight operation, but it's far from a stiff corporate environment. People here pitch in when things get busy, share a laugh over chai between dispatches, and take genuine pride in getting deliveries out on time. We've grown steadily over the years, and we're not slowing down.
What hasn't changed is how we work: safety first, honesty always, and no one gets left to figure things out alone. If that sounds like a place you'd fit in, keep reading.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee daily transportation operations across our Al Quoz base — from route planning to dispatch coordination
- Track vehicles, shipments, and driver performance to keep everything running on schedule
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations — and step in firmly (but fairly) when something's off
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, and external partners to resolve delays and last-minute curveballs
- Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel usage, maintenance schedules, and incidents
- Spot inefficiencies in routes or workflows and suggest practical improvements
- Support and mentor the driving team, helping them stay compliant and motivated
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Solid experience in transportation or fleet coordination, ideally within the UAE
- Working knowledge of UAE traffic laws, road safety regulations, and transport compliance
- Strong leadership instincts — you can guide a team without micromanaging it
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple moving parts (literally)
- Clear communication in English; Hindi or Urdu is a strong plus for daily team interaction
- Comfort with logistics software and basic reporting tools
Nice-to-Haves:
- A valid UAE driving license
- Experience managing both light and heavy vehicle fleets
- Familiarity with Al Quoz–area operations and local routes
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — plenty of great people joined us with slightly different backgrounds and grew into the role beautifully.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary with on-time payment, every month — no chasing required
- Health insurance and annual leave as per UAE labour law
- A stable, established company — not a startup figuring things out as it goes
- Real opportunities to grow into senior operations roles as we expand
- A supportive team culture where your input actually gets heard
- Convenient Al Quoz location with easy access to major roads
We're not promising ping-pong tables or nap pods. What we offer is honest work, fair treatment, and a team that has your back. In this industry, that counts for a lot — and we think you'll feel the difference from your first week.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you'd plan routes and handle dispatch for a mixed fleet on a typical busy morning here in Al Quoz. What does your process look like from the first check-in to vehicles rolling out?
- UAE traffic laws and compliance rules can be unforgiving. How do you stay current on regulations, and can you give an example of how you've enforced them on a team without creating friction?
- A driver calls in 20 minutes before a delivery window to say the vehicle won't start. Walk me through what you'd do — who you'd call, what you'd prioritize, and how you'd keep the client informed.
- What logistics software and reporting tools have you worked with, and how have you used them to track fuel usage, maintenance schedules, or driver performance? Be specific about what you actually did day to day.
- Tell me about a time you spotted an inefficiency in routes or workflows and pushed for a change. What did you propose, who did you have to convince, and what happened?
- How would you go about mentoring a driver who's repeatedly cutting corners on safety checks? Where's the line between coaching and formal action for you?
- Describe a moment when several things went wrong at once — delays, an unhappy client, a team member dropping the ball. How did you keep it all from unraveling?
- Tell me about a time you had to push back on a manager or a client because what they wanted wasn't safe or wasn't realistic. How did you handle it?
- Our team here is a mix of backgrounds and languages, and people pitch in when things get busy. How do you build trust with drivers and warehouse staff who may not report to you directly?
- What's your experience with light versus heavy vehicle fleets? How does your approach to maintenance and driver management differ between the two?
- If you joined and found our records for trips, fuel, and incidents were patchy, what would your first two weeks of fixing
