About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Love the scent of freshly baked pastries in the air? If you’re a talented Sweets and Desserts Baker who finds joy in transforming basic ingredients into edible works of art, we’d love to meet you. Here in Umm Al Quwain’s vibrant Mader area, we’re searching for someone with the creative spark and technical know-how to make our bakery’s sweets table truly unforgettable. For anyone who wants to be a part of a growing local favorite, this is your chance to shine.
About the Company
We’re a neighborhood bakery with big dreams and a deep respect for tradition — but we’re not afraid to experiment with new flavors or bold designs. Our team is a mix of seasoned bakers and enthusiastic newcomers, all united by a genuine love for the craft. We believe in sharing what we make (there’s always something fresh to taste in the kitchen), and ideas are as welcome as flour on the countertop. Here, your passion for baking isn’t just encouraged — it’s celebrated.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing and baking a variety of sweets, desserts, and cakes — from classic recipes to seasonal specialties.
- Experimenting with new flavors, textures, and presentation styles to keep things fresh and exciting.
- Ensuring top-notch quality, consistency, and appearance in everything that leaves the oven.
- Managing ingredient prep, measuring, and mixing with precision (and a dash of intuition).
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace — because great desserts start with great habits.
- Collaborating with teammates to plan special menus or custom orders for events.
- Occasionally helping out with inventory, supply checks, and sourcing unique ingredients.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Previous experience working in a bakery or pastry shop, especially with sweets and desserts.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert decoration, and food safety practices.
- A creative flair — you love dreaming up (and actually making) new treats.
- Consistent attention to detail, from mixing batter to final presentation.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen, sometimes under tight timelines.
- Passion for the craft — you genuinely enjoy the process as much as the finished product.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with custom cake decoration or sugar craft.
- Familiarity with international or fusion desserts.
- Basic Arabic or English communication skills (but all nationalities and language backgrounds are welcome).
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary, with opportunities for overtime during busy seasons.
- Inclusive team culture — we learn from each other and celebrate every win, big or small.
- All nationalities welcome; diversity in the kitchen is part of our secret recipe.
- Flexible scheduling when possible to help balance work and life.
- The chance to create signature desserts that get people talking (and coming back for more).
- Staff discounts on all our baked goods — we believe bakers should enjoy their own creations!
If you’re ready to bring your passion for sweets to a team that appreciates creativity and skill, we think you’ll feel right at home here. The next great dessert could have your name on it!
