About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to cook nourishing, restaurant-worthy meals in a beautiful Abu Dhabi home — and know you’re making a real difference in someone’s well-being? We’re on the lookout for a talented Private Chef to join a welcoming household in Al Muntazah, where every plate you craft truly matters. If Lebanese cuisine is your passion, and healthy innovation is your signature, you might be just the person we’re seeking for this unique and meaningful opportunity.

About the Company

This isn’t your average kitchen gig; you’ll be an essential part of a high-achieving female executive’s support team, helping her live her best (and healthiest!) life. The household values professionalism, discretion, and a genuine enthusiasm for food that heals as well as delights. You can expect a respectful, collaborative atmosphere — and if you’re the type to nerd out over vivid produce at the fish market or experiment with the latest healthy twist on classic Lebanese dishes, you’ll feel right at home. Here, quality of ingredients and attention to detail are a given, and your input on new flavors or presentation is always welcome.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Crafting three delicious, heart-healthy meals daily — breakfast (5:00am), lunch (12:00pm), and dinner (6:00pm) — six days a week.
  • Designing and rotating weekly menus with a focus on Lebanese favorites adapted for cardiac wellness and modern healthy trends.
  • Sourcing the freshest local ingredients and handling grocery runs or coordinating with existing household staff.
  • Staying up-to-date on dietary guidelines for cardiac health and incorporating them into every dish.
  • Presenting food beautifully, whether it’s a zesty breakfast bowl or a celebratory mezze spread.
  • Managing kitchen inventory, ensuring everything is prepped and organized for smooth execution.
  • Maintaining strict hygiene standards and a spotless workspace at all times.
  • Being responsive (and creative!) when dietary needs or preferences change — flexibility is key.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Proven experience as a Private Chef or similar professional kitchen background, ideally in homes or bespoke catering.
  • Deep knowledge of Lebanese cuisine, including modern interpretations and health-conscious adaptations.
  • A strong grasp of cardiac-friendly nutrition and dietary requirements.
  • Exceptional time management — early mornings are essential, and consistency is everything.
  • Discretion, reliability, and the highest standards of personal and professional conduct.
  • Ability to live on-site in Al Muntazah, Abu Dhabi, with respect for privacy and boundaries.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Culinary school training or relevant nutrition/dietetics certification.
  • Familiarity with other Mediterranean or Middle Eastern healthy dishes.
  • Prior experience supporting someone with specific medical dietary needs.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • All meals are enjoyed in a serene, modern home kitchen with top-notch appliances and support where needed.
  • Competitive compensation with accommodation provided, so you can focus fully on your craft.
  • Reliable schedule (you’ll always know your mealtimes) and one guaranteed day off per week.
  • Opportunity to shape menus, learn from nutritionists, and watch your dishes directly support someone’s health.
  • An open-minded, appreciative employer who values your culinary expertise and respects your input.

Here, your work genuinely fuels someone’s life and achievements. For any chef who finds purpose in helping others thrive and delights in culinary artistry, this is a rare and rewarding chance.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk me through how you would design a weekly menu that highlights Lebanese classics yet aligns with cardiac-friendly dietary guidelines?
  • Describe how you usually go about sourcing the freshest ingredients, especially when designing meals that must balance authenticity and health-conscious choices.
  • How do you adapt traditional Lebanese dishes—like kibbeh, tabbouleh, or fattoush—to meet specific medical dietary requirements, such as reduced sodium or heart-healthy fats?
  • When presented with a client’s changing taste preferences or sudden dietary restrictions, how do you handle the change both creatively and logistically?
  • What’s your approach to maintaining impeccable kitchen hygiene and organization, particularly when preparing three meals daily in a private home setting?
  • Share an example from your experience when you had to improvise due to an unavailable ingredient—how did you preserve both health standards and culinary satisfaction?
  • Early mornings and consistent routines are part of this role. How have you managed schedules or time-sensitive food prep in past positions to ensure every meal is timely and fresh?
  • Describe a time you received feedback—positive or constructive—on your menu or presentation. How did you respond and what did you change, if anything?
  • How do you stay current with nutrition trends and medical guidelines, particularly those related to cardiac health? Can you mention any recent changes you’ve made in your cooking as a result?
  • Tell me about a situation where you had to work closely with other household staff. How do you ensure smooth communication and mutual respect in shared workspaces?
  • Discretion and respect for privacy are crucial in this setting. How do you establish appropriate boundaries with employers and their guests while remaining approachable and professional?
  • What excites you most about the opportunity to shape someone’s daily nutrition in such a personal and impactful way?
  • In your view, what key qualities make a chef not just technically excellent, but truly valued in a private home environment?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

You should expect a salary of at least 12,000 to 18,000 AED per month for a Private Chef position of this nature in Abu Dhabi, especially when accommodation is provided. Similar roles supporting executive households, particularly those requiring expertise in Lebanese cuisine and specialized dietary knowledge, typically offer compensation within this range based on experience and qualifications. Don’t hesitate to negotiate on the higher end if you bring proven culinary credentials, solid nutrition knowledge, and a strong track record in private homes.
