Salary: Negotiable

About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever pictured yourself as the cornerstone of a safer work site, where your vigilance quite literally keeps people out of harm’s way each day? We’re on the lookout for an experienced Safety Officer who thrives in fast-paced construction or industrial environments—and we’re hoping you can hit the ground running, starting immediately. If you’re someone who knows the UAE’s safety regulations like the back of your hand and has the credentials to match, this could be the next role you’ve been waiting for.

About the Company

At our core, we’re a team that values people above all else—whether that’s our clients, our staff, or the contractors we work with. Our projects span some of the UAE’s most ambitious construction sites and industrial plants, but what really sets us apart is our boots-on-the-ground team spirit. We celebrate wins (big and small) over fresh coffee, and no question about ‘doing it right’ ever goes ignored. Growing fast means every day brings a new challenge—and a new story to share at our much-loved Thursday lunch meetups.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conducting thorough site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with local HSE standards.
  • Advising site supervisors and workers on safe work practices, sometimes jumping in with impromptu toolbox talks.
  • Preparing and updating risk assessments, safety reports, and incident investigations with accuracy and clarity.
  • Responding quickly to emergencies or near-misses—sometimes it’s a drill, sometimes it’s real, but it’s always serious.
  • Coordinating and tracking safety training for all staff, ensuring certifications and inductions are never left to chance.
  • Acting as a visible ambassador for our safety-first culture: from PPE audits to spotting that one exposed cable no one else noticed.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on HSE experience in a UAE or GCC construction/industrial setting.
  • NEBOSH IGC certification (non-negotiable—your ticket through the door).
  • Solid understanding of UAE-specific HSE legislation and standards.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in Engineering or a closely related field (preferred, but not a dealbreaker).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Additional HSE trainings or certifications.
  • Sharp report-writing skills—if you can make regulatory jargon sound clear, you’ll fit right in.
  • Experience introducing digital HSE tools (think incident tracking apps or e-learning modules).

Not sure if you meet every qualification? If you bring passion for safety and a willingness to learn, we’d still love to talk.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive, always-on-time salary with overtime where needed.
  • Immediate start—no waiting, no bureaucracy.
  • Supportive, collaborative team that actually listens to safety input.
  • Regular upskilling opportunities (think in-house workshops and paid certifications).
  • Open-door management style with direct access to decision-makers.
  • Work-life balance matters to us: we respect your days off and encourage real downtime.

We spend a good share of our week together—so it’s crucial you feel valued, supported, and challenged. Bring your eye for detail and your passion for safety; we’ll make sure you’re given every opportunity to grow.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your experience conducting site inspections in fast-paced construction or industrial settings in the UAE?
  • What steps do you take to ensure full compliance with UAE-specific HSE standards and regulations on a daily basis?
  • Tell me about a time you responded to an emergency or near-miss on site. What actions did you take, and what was the outcome?
  • How do you approach preparing and updating risk assessments and incident investigation reports so they are accurate and easy for all stakeholders to understand?
  • Have you ever led a toolbox talk or impromptu safety briefing? How did you get buy-in from site teams?
  • Are you familiar with any digital HSE tools, such as incident tracking software or online training platforms? Can you share how you've used them to improve safety outcomes?
  • Describe a situation where you noticed a safety hazard that others had missed. How did you address it and communicate the risk to the team?
  • How do you stay up to date with new regulations and safety requirements specific to the UAE or GCC region?
  • Sometimes deadlines and workloads can create pressure to overlook safety for speed. How do you advocate for safe work practices in those situations?
  • We value clear communication. Can you share an example where your report-writing or documentation made a real impact on a project?
  • In teams where not everyone is equally enthusiastic about safety protocols, how do you build trust and encourage positive attitudes toward HSE?
  • What do you look for in a company culture to feel motivated and supported in your safety role?
  • Our team culture involves sharing wins and challenges together. How do you contribute to a collaborative and open work environment?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

You should expect a salary of at least 5,000–7,000 AED per month as an experienced Safety Officer in the UAE’s construction and industrial sectors, especially with a NEBOSH IGC and hands-on site experience. Depending on the complexity of projects and additional certifications, some companies may offer up to 8,000 AED or more for candidates with strong credentials and proven local expertise. Negotiating within this range is reasonable, particularly if you bring specialized HSE skills or digital safety tool experience.
