About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Have a knack for shaping strong foundations, one block at a time? As a Mason with Nordicscape Pool Concepts L C, you’ll play a hands-on role in creating some of the region’s most striking pools and landscapes — and see the fruits of your work bring joy to families and communities every single day. If you live for the satisfaction of a perfectly-laid brick or the crisp finish of flawless plaster, this is your chance to be part of something tangible in Dubai’s fast-growing built environment.

About Nordicscape Pool Concepts L C

At Nordicscape, we’re more than just pool builders — we’re craftsmen, design enthusiasts, and lovers of the outdoors. Our Dubai-based team brings together experts from around the world, sharing ideas as easily as we swap lunch recommendations (the Friday biryani debate is ongoing). You’ll find us working closely on job sites, celebrating milestone projects, and always pushing to set higher standards in landscaping and aquatic design. Whether it’s a luxury villa or a serene community garden, we deliver spaces you’d be proud to show your own family.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Laying blocks, bricks, and stonework for pools, garden walls, and architectural features — always aiming for that razor-sharp alignment.
  • Plastering interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a smooth, durable finish (sometimes in the searing Dubai heat!).
  • Preparing concrete mixes and pouring foundations for pool structures and hardscapes.
  • Reading and interpreting basic construction drawings and site plans, partnering with site supervisors and fellow trades.
  • Adapting to the day’s needs: one week might be villa landscaping, the next could bring a bespoke mosaic pool.
  • Maintaining tools, safety equipment, and materials — because a tidy site is a safe site.
  • Collaborating with the team to tackle challenges as they come up, from complex shapes to uncooperative weather.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Hands-on experience in masonry work: block laying, plastering, concrete, or general civil construction.
  • Ability to understand construction drawings and follow technical site instructions.
  • A reputation for reliability and staying the course, even on the toughest projects.
  • Genuine pride in your work — you notice the details, not just the deadlines.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working on swimming pool, landscaping, or villa construction sites in the UAE.
  • Any extra skills in decorative finishes, tiling, or custom stonework.
  • Spoken English, Hindi, or Arabic to help keep communication smooth on multilingual teams.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary with overtime opportunities for those crunch weeks.
  • A supportive team that recognizes hard work and celebrates project wins together.
  • Consistent pipeline of interesting, visually rewarding projects — you’ll never be bored.
  • Access to professional tools and site safety equipment.
  • Friendly, multi-cultural crew who know how to work hard and share a good laugh after shift.
  • Opportunities to learn new skills (pool technology is always evolving — and we’ll show you the latest tricks).
  • Most roles are site-based in Dubai, with transport provided to major project locations.

At Nordicscape, you’re not just another worker — you’re a vital member of a team that builds some of the city’s standout spaces. Join us and help transform ideas into lasting landmarks.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk me through your typical process for ensuring that brick or stonework is aligned perfectly and structurally sound when laying blocks for a new project?
  • How would you approach plastering a curved pool wall versus a straight exterior garden wall, especially in Dubai’s high temperatures?
  • Describe your experience with reading construction drawings—have you ever caught an error or suggested an improvement based on something you saw in a site plan?
  • Tell me about a time you faced a challenging weather condition or unexpected complication on-site. How did you and your team handle it to keep the project on track?
  • What methods or tools do you use to prepare accurate concrete mixes, and what do you look out for to ensure a strong pool foundation?
  • Have you been involved in projects that required custom decorative finishes or mosaic tiling? What techniques did you rely on for achieving a neat and durable result?
  • When assigned to a villa landscaping job one week and a commercial pool the next, how do you adapt to different project scopes and requirements?
  • Share an example of a project where teamwork was crucial to overcoming a specific challenge—how did you contribute to the group’s success?
  • How do you make sure that your workspace and tools stay clean and organized throughout the day, especially when the site is busy or multiple trades are involved?
  • In a team that’s culturally diverse and multilingual, how do you ensure smooth communication and help others feel included?
  • Can you give an example of a time when you felt genuine pride in your work or received recognition for your attention to detail?
  • What motivates you the most about building pools and outdoor spaces that families and communities will use for years to come?
  • Looking back at your experience in the UAE or similar hot climates, what’s the most important lesson you’ve learned about quality or safety on the job?
  • Why do you think you’d be a great addition to Nordicscape’s hands-on, creative, and close-knit team?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

You should expect a salary of at least 2,500–3,500 AED per month for a mason position in Dubai, with experienced candidates or those with specialized skills such as pool construction or decorative stonework earning towards the higher end of that range. Similar roles in the construction and landscaping sector often offer overtime pay and, occasionally, additional benefits like transport or accommodation. Given your hands-on responsibilities and the opportunity to work on premium projects, it’s reasonable to discuss an offer within this range during interviews.
