About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Ever walked past a beautifully lit storefront sign or a sleek acrylic display case and wondered how it all comes together? That’s where you come in. We’re on the hunt for an experienced Acrylic Factory Worker to join our busy production floor in Abu Dhabi — someone who doesn’t just push buttons but genuinely understands the material, the machines, and the craft. This isn’t a run-of-the-mill factory gig; it’s a role where your hands-on skills directly shape the quality of products that go out to clients across the UAE. If you’ve got solid experience and you’re ready to hit the ground running, this could be the perfect fit.

About the Company

We’re a well-established acrylic fabrication workshop based in Abu Dhabi, and we’ve built our reputation on precision and reliability. Over the years, we’ve grown from a small operation into a trusted name for custom acrylic products — everything from point-of-sale displays and signage to intricate laser-cut pieces for interior fit-outs. The vibe here is practical and no-nonsense; we work hard, we respect each other’s expertise, and we take pride in what we produce. You won’t find a stuffy corporate atmosphere here — just a team of skilled folks who know their trade and get the job done right, day in and day out.

What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)

  • Operating the CO2 laser cutting machine — you’ll be the one dialing in the settings, monitoring cuts, and ensuring every edge comes out clean and precise.
  • Running the CNC machine for routing, shaping, and more complex fabrication tasks — this is where your technical know-how really shines.
  • Preparing acrylic sheets for production: measuring, cutting to size, and setting up materials for the next stage.
  • Engraving and finishing products — from polishing edges to applying the final touches that make a piece look professional.
  • Reading and interpreting design files in CorelDRAW, and making small adjustments when needed to ensure the machine output matches the client’s vision.
  • Quality-checking finished pieces before they’re packed — because a product that leaves our floor reflects on all of us.
  • Keeping your workspace clean and organized, and flagging any maintenance issues with the machines before they become bigger problems.

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

Must-Haves:

  • Previous hands-on experience in an acrylic manufacturing or fabrication environment — we’re not looking for someone who’s only watched YouTube tutorials.
  • Solid ability to operate a CO2 laser cutting machine and a CNC machine, including basic troubleshooting when something goes sideways.
  • Working knowledge of CorelDRAW — you should be comfortable opening files, checking vectors, and making minor tweaks without needing to ask for help.
  • Experience with cutting, engraving, and preparing acrylic products from start to finish.
  • You must be currently available in the UAE and ready to start — we need someone who can join the team without a long notice period.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with other design software like AutoCAD or Illustrator.
  • Experience working with different thicknesses and types of acrylic (cast, extruded, colored, etc.).
  • A basic understanding of maintenance — keeping the machines calibrated and clean is a big plus.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you. If you’ve got the core skills and the right attitude, we’re happy to talk.

Why You’ll Love Working Here (Benefits & Perks)

  • Competitive salary that reflects your experience and skill level — we pay fairly for good work.
  • Stable, full-time employment with a company that has a steady flow of projects year-round.
  • A collaborative workshop environment where your input actually matters — if you spot a better way to do something, we want to hear it.
  • Opportunity to sharpen your skills with modern equipment and a variety of projects that keep things interesting.
  • Accommodation and transportation provided for eligible staff, so you can focus on the work without the daily commute hassle.

At the end of the day, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and wants to be part of a team that values quality. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you — let’s talk and see if we’re the right match.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through your experience operating a CO2 laser cutter — what materials and thicknesses have you worked with, and how do you adjust settings when you switch between them?
  • When you're running a CNC machine for acrylic routing, what are the common issues you've run into, and how did you troubleshoot them on the spot?
  • How comfortable are you with CorelDRAW — can you describe a time you had to open a client's design file and make adjustments before sending it to the machine?
  • What's your process for finishing acrylic edges after cutting — how do you ensure a clean, polished result that's ready for the client?
  • You're mid-batch on a laser cutting job and the machine starts producing charred edges — what's your immediate next step, and how do you prevent it from happening again?
  • Tell me about a time a design file didn't match what the client actually wanted — how did you handle it, and what did you do to get the final product right?
  • Imagine we have a tight deadline and two machines need attention at the same time — one is a quick laser job and the other is a complex CNC routing task. How would you prioritize your time?
  • Give me an example of a mistake you made on the production floor that affected a finished product — what happened, and what did you change afterward?
  • We work as a close-knit team here, and everyone's input matters — can you share a time you suggested a process improvement that actually made a difference in your previous workshop?
  • How do you handle repetitive, detail-heavy work day after day without letting quality slip?
  • What does taking pride in your craft mean to you, specifically when it comes to acrylic fabrication?
  • If you noticed a maintenance issue with the laser machine that wasn't urgent but could become a problem later, how would you communicate that to the team?
  • We've got a steady flow of diverse

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

Given the hands-on technical nature of this role and the requirement for experience with both CO2 laser and CNC machines, you should expect a salary of at least 4,500 to 6,500 AED per month. Similar specialized fabrication roles in Abu Dhabi usually offer this range, especially since the company is providing accommodation and transport, which adds significant value to the overall package. If you have strong CorelDRAW skills and can hit the ground running without training, don't be afraid to aim for the top end of that scale.
