About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered how it feels to be at the heart of preserving—and evolving—an entire country’s culinary traditions? As a Chef or Assistant Chef specializing in Emirati cuisine, you won’t just prepare meals; you’ll shape meaningful dining experiences that celebrate heritage, flavor, and togetherness. If you light up at the thought of perfecting Machboos or crafting the perfect Luqaimat, this is a rare opportunity to influence a kitchen deeply committed to authenticity—while also welcoming innovation where it matters.

About the Company

Nestled in a bustling neighborhood where old-world charm meets modern hospitality, our restaurant has quickly become a gathering place for those who crave the real tastes of the Emirates. Our team is a mix of seasoned chefs, inspired newcomers, and—yes—an in-house tea enthusiast who’s always keen to share a story behind every blend. Fridays often mean family-style meals after the lunch rush, and in our kitchen, collaboration is valued as much as culinary skill. If you appreciate environments where respect, learning, and laughter all have a place alongside precision, you’ll feel right at home.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Head Chef (Emirati Cuisine)

    • Lead kitchen operations focused on traditional Emirati dishes, from Machboos to Harees to freshly fried Luqaimat
    • Develop, refine, and present daily menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and cultural celebrations
    • Train and mentor assistant chefs and support staff—sharing techniques and stories that make every dish come alive
    • Ensure top-tier hygiene and food safety standards at every stage of prep and service
    • Liaise with management on inventory, sourcing local ingredients wherever possible for the most authentic flavors
  • Assistant Chef

    • Support all aspects of kitchen preparation, from marinating meats for Machboos to crafting accompaniments
    • Handle mise en place and ingredient organization to keep the kitchen running smoothly
    • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef—think of yourself as their right hand when big batches or new menu items roll out
    • Uphold a spotless, orderly workstation and assist with cleaning duties throughout the shift
    • Jump in wherever needed, from plating special orders to sharing ideas for new desserts
  • Tea Specialist

    • Curate a small but thoughtful menu of traditional teas and accompaniments (chai karak, anyone?)
    • Educate guests and colleagues on the origins and brewing of each selection
    • Maintain impeccable brewing stations and source the freshest herbs and spices

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Prior experience working with authentic Emirati cuisine (whether in a commercial kitchen or a much-loved family setting—both count!)
  • Hands-on understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices
  • Currently residing in the UAE with a transferable visa
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine respect for traditional culinary processes
  • Clean, polished, and organized in both your cooking and your workstation

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with menu development or introducing seasonal specials
  • Fluency in Arabic or English (or both—a plus for both the kitchen and guests)
  • A knack for storytelling—culinary or otherwise!

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary with opportunities for regular performance reviews
  • Employee meals featuring Emirati specialties—yes, you’ll get to eat what you create!
  • Clear path for career advancement and skills development, with plenty of on-the-job learning
  • Friendly, down-to-earth kitchen culture where your ideas are genuinely welcomed
  • Flexible shifts to strike a good work/life balance
  • Close-knit team that values personal growth, well-being, and sometimes friendly (but fierce!) dessert competitions

At the end of the day, you’ll be part of a team where what you cook matters—as much to your guests as to the culture you represent. If you’re passionate about cooking, keen to share your expertise, and excited to help shape the culinary future of Emirati cuisine, we can’t wait to meet you.
