About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever find yourself happiest when surrounded by the scent of freshly cut timber and the hum of a busy workshop? If you’re an experienced woodworker who takes real pride in their craft, we’d love to meet you. We’re seeking a talented artisan for our Al Ain-based workshop — someone who’s as comfortable with a hand plane as they are with a table saw, and who knows their way around epoxy resin like a true professional. If precision, pride in your work, and classic craftsmanship speak to you, this just might be your next home.
About Our Shop
Tucked away in the heart of Al Ain, our small-but-mighty workshop is a place where creativity, camaraderie, and old-school wood wisdom blend together. We’re a tight team of craftspeople who admire skill but value character just as much. Laughter often rings louder than the power tools here, and we appreciate anyone who brings both expertise and a positive spirit to the bench. Oddly specific fun fact: We’ve never had a coffee break without trading shop stories.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling custom wood pieces with accuracy and care
- Creating and repairing furniture, cabinetry, or bespoke projects as assigned
- Selecting and working with a variety of woods, adjusting technique for each type
- Skillfully pouring, leveling, and finishing epoxy resin projects from start to glossy end
- Safely operating machinery (table saw, planer, jointer, etc.) and a full range of hand tools
- Managing your own workflow to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to standard
- Keeping the workspace organized and machinery in smooth working order
- Occasionally collaborating with teammates for larger or trickier builds
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Proven hands-on woodworking experience (not just as a hobby — we need a pro)
- Confident with joinery, furniture assembly, finishing
- Practical, real-world epoxy resin experience (pouring, leveling, polishing, and troubleshooting)
- Strong commitment to safety in both hand and power tool use
- Ability to clearly follow instructions and work independently
- Reliable and punctual; takes pride in both big and small tasks
- You must be comfortable communicating via WhatsApp (this is our go-to for schedules and updates)
- Please note: This role is not open to Arab candidates
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with new materials or techniques – always a plus
- A sense of humor or good story (honestly, it helps with sawdust days)
Not sure you have every single skill? If you’re passionate about woodworking and meet most of these, we’d still love to talk.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Fixed monthly salary of 1,500 dirhams (on time, every month)
- Work in a supportive shop where your craft is respected and your input valued
- All tools and materials provided — just bring your skill and dedication
- Simple, direct communication via WhatsApp (no complicated systems)
- Get to work on unique custom projects that you’ll be proud to show off (or post photos of)
