About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Looking to make your mark in the backbone of modern communications? We’re seeking IDF/Network Technicians to help keep Abu Dhabi’s tech infrastructure running smoothly. If working hands-on with the physical side of IT is your passion—and you thrive on seeing results you can actually touch—this opportunity might just be the perfect fit. With several ongoing projects and an urgent need for skilled technicians, there’s real momentum here… and a real chance to make a difference from day one.
About the Company
We’re a top-tier IT solutions provider in Abu Dhabi, powering everything from startups to large-scale government projects across the region. Our team has a reputation for delivering network solutions that are as reliable as they are innovative; and we take pride in nurturing an environment where everyone’s input matters (yes, even the classic cable management debates find a home here!). Collaboration and learning are woven into our daily routine—think: troubleshooting sessions, demo days, and occasional food fests when deadlines are met.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Handling the installation and complete setup of Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs), including mounting Patch Panels and carefully terminating Keystone Jacks.
- Meticulously dressing and organizing cables so they pass both the eye test and industry standards—no rats’ nests on your watch.
- Tracing network cabling using professional tools like Tracers and Toners; you don’t just guess, you verify.
- Systematically testing and troubleshooting network cables to get to the root of issues—sometimes before the end user even notices.
- Always ensuring your work aligns with company standards and complies with all relevant codes and safety regulations.
- Communicating regularly with project leads to document site progress, issues, and completion milestones.
- Collaborating with fellow technicians, and sometimes guiding junior teammates to build a smoother, safer network.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Practical, hands-on experience working with network cabling (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Deep familiarity with IDF tasks—patch panels, keystone jacks, cable dressing, and all the pitfalls that come with them.
- Proficient in using cable tracing and testing tools (Tracers, Toners, etc.) and interpreting results.
- Proven troubleshooting abilities; you’re the person others turn to when something just “doesn’t work.”
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety on every site.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Industry certifications (like CompTIA Network+, BICSI, or equivalent).
- Previous work with large-scale commercial or government networking projects in the UAE.
- Comfortable communicating in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an added bonus.
- A knack for training or mentoring less-experienced techs—patience goes a long way here.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary with overtime and project-based bonuses—your hard work won’t go unnoticed.
- Visa, medical insurance, and annual leave that respect your commitment.
- Supportive team culture with regular training sessions to develop your expertise (plus, you’ll never be short of someone to swap networking war stories with).
- Opportunities for growth—rapid upskilling and a chance to move into team-lead or supervisory roles if that’s your goal.
- A dynamic workplace where no two days are the same and your problem-solving skills get a daily workout.
- Flexible work sites across Abu Dhabi—see more of the city while you build your career.
You’ll join a team that values what you do and recognizes the importance of every cable run, punchdown, and perfectly labeled patch panel. If you’re ready to step up in a growing, appreciative environment, we can’t wait to connect with you.
