About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Are you someone who finds joy in both caring for little ones and keeping a home running smoothly? A warm, welcoming family of three in Abu Dhabi’s Al Shahama area is looking for a live-in housemaid/nanny to join their household. This is a chance to become an integral part of a small family, caring for a lively 2-year-old boy while managing household cleaning. If you have a genuine love for childcare, a knack for tidiness, and your own visa, you might just be the person they’re hoping to meet.
About the Family
Picture a household where laughter from a toddler fills the rooms and every day brings something new — from messy mealtimes to imaginative play. This family values trust, kindness, and open communication. They’re hands-on parents who believe in creating a supportive, respectful environment for everyone under their roof. You’ll find them celebrating small milestones, sharing stories over dinner, and treating their home as a place of comfort and growth for both family and staff. “We want you to feel like part of our family, not just an employee,” they say — and they mean it.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Caring for a curious and energetic 2-year-old boy: feeding, bathing, playing, and ensuring his safety at all times
- Creating a fun and engaging daily routine — think storytime, arts and crafts, and outdoor play
- Keeping the home clean and organized, including regular dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and general tidying
- Preparing simple, healthy meals for the child (and sometimes for the family, if needed)
- Managing household supplies and letting the family know when essentials need replenishing
- Working closely with the parents to ensure their child’s routines and needs are met
- Occasionally accompanying the family on outings or errands in the local area
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Valid personal visa (sponsorship is not available for this role)
- Good spoken English, able to communicate clearly with both adults and children
- Experience caring for toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and play
- Strong sense of responsibility and trustworthiness
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized living space
- Compassion and patience — especially on those “toddler tantrum” days
Nice-to-Haves:
- Previous experience in a live-in nanny/housemaid position
- Basic cooking skills and willingness to help with family meals
- First aid knowledge or certification
- A cheerful disposition and a sense of humor (toddlers can be hilarious!)
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
