About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Ever thought about laying the foundation for some of the most ambitious construction projects in the world? We're looking for skilled bricklayers to join our team on ongoing projects across the UAE — the kind of work that literally shapes skylines. If you take pride in straight lines, solid walls, and a job done right the first time, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. The demand for experienced hands-on trades in the region has never been higher, and we're building a crew that's ready to deliver.
About the Company
We're a recruitment partner connecting talented tradespeople with established construction firms operating throughout the Emirates. The teams we place people with run fast-moving, large-scale projects — and they value reliability, craftsmanship, and people who show up ready to work. You won't be just a number on a roster; the crews we build tend to stick together, swap tips over lunch, and take real pride in what they put up each day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units to build and repair walls, partitions, and structural elements according to project specifications.
- Read and work from basic drawings and instructions to ensure each structure meets the required dimensions and finish.
- Mix mortar and prepare materials to the right consistency for the job at hand.
- Check your work as you go — plumb lines, levels, and alignment matter, and you'll be the one making sure they're spot on.
- Work alongside other trades on site, keeping the flow of the project moving and coordinating where walls meet frames, pipes, and finishes.
- Keep your work area safe and tidy, following site safety rules without being reminded.
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience as a bricklayer or in general masonry work — we want to see what you can do.
- Comfort working outdoors in the UAE climate and on active construction sites.
- A solid understanding of safety practices on site.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic — the kind of teammate others can count on.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with different brick and block types, or decorative masonry finishes.
- Ability to read simple construction drawings.
- Previous experience working on projects in the Gulf region.
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — skill and attitude count for a lot in this trade.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Monthly salary of AED 3,000, paid reliably.
- Ongoing project work — no scrambling for the next gig every few weeks.
- Join established crews on large-scale builds where your work is visible and valued.
- Gain experience on projects that add real weight to your CV for future Gulf opportunities.
- A straightforward, no-nonsense work culture where good craftsmanship gets noticed.
Please note that this recruitment company applies a job application fee. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and be part of something being built from the ground up, this is a solid place to put your skills to work.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you'd set out and build a wall from a basic drawing — what do you check first, and how do you keep it true as you go up?
- Tell me about a time a wall or structure you built failed a level or plumb check. What happened, and what did you do about it?
- How do you judge when a mortar mix is right for the job? Does your approach change between blockwork and facing bricks?
- Describe your experience with different brick and block types. Have you done any decorative or feature masonry work?
- You're building a wall that has to meet a window frame and some pipework running through it. How do you coordinate with the other trades so everything lines up?
- What's your routine for keeping your work area safe and tidy on a busy site? Give me an example of something you caught before it became a problem.
- Have you worked through a Gulf summer before? How do you manage your pace and hydration while still hitting your targets?
- Tell me about a time you spotted a mistake in your own work and fixed it before anyone else noticed. What was going through your head?
- You're paired with a labourer who's mixing mortar too wet and it's slowing you down. How would you handle it?
- What does a good day on site look like to you — and what does a bad one look like?
- Why bricklaying? What keeps you in the trade after the years you've put in?
- If a supervisor asked you to cut a corner to save time, how would you respond?
