About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Ever wondered what it takes to build the roads, networks, and infrastructure that keep a growing city moving? We're a contracting company based in Abu Dhabi's Rabdan area, and we're opening our doors on 10 November 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., to meet people who want to be part of exactly that kind of work. Whether you're a site engineer who thrives in the field or a draftsman who lives in the details, there's likely a seat for you here. Come by, bring your CV, and let's talk about where you fit.
About the Company
We're a contracting firm rooted in Abu Dhabi, with infrastructure projects that span roads, utilities, and site development across the emirate. The team is a genuine mix of nationalities and backgrounds — something we're proud of — and most people here will tell you the same thing: the work is hands-on, the pace is real, and Friday mornings usually end with a bit of good-natured debate over karak.
We're at a stage where we're growing steadily and need solid people to grow with us. That's why we're holding an open day rather than posting a dozen separate ads — we'd rather meet you in person.
What You'll Be Doing
We're hiring across a range of roles, so what you'll do depends on where you land. Broadly, here's what each position involves:
- Surveyors — carrying out site surveys, setting out works, and keeping measurements accurate from day one to handover
- Infrastructure Site Engineers — supervising day-to-day site activities, coordinating with crews and subcontractors, and making sure work matches the drawings and specs
- Infrastructure Construction Manager — overseeing project execution on the ground, managing schedules, resources, and site teams to keep things moving
- Quantity Surveyors — preparing BOQs, tracking costs, evaluating variations, and keeping the commercial side of projects honest and accurate
- AutoCAD Draftsmen — producing and revising detailed drawings for infrastructure works, and keeping documentation tidy and up to date
- Supply Engineer — sourcing materials, coordinating with suppliers, and making sure the right items arrive on site at the right time
- General Foreman — leading site crews, allocating daily tasks, and keeping safety and quality front and centre
- Safety Officer / Safety Engineer — running toolbox talks, conducting inspections, and making sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day
- Office Worker — handling documentation, filing, coordination, and the everyday admin that keeps the office running smoothly
What You'll Bring
We're open to all nationalities, and we care more about attitude and capability than perfect CV formatting.
Must-haves:
- Relevant experience or qualifications for the role you're applying for
- A willingness to work on-site and collaborate closely with a diverse team
- For engineering and safety roles: familiarity with UAE construction standards and practices is a strong plus
- Good communication — in English, and Arabic is a bonus where relevant
Nice-to-haves:
- Prior experience on infrastructure projects in the UAE
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH for safety roles)
- A valid UAE driving licence for site-based positions
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — come along and introduce yourself.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Full-time, stable employment with a company that's actively growing
- A genuinely multicultural team — you'll work alongside people from across the region and beyond
- Hands-on infrastructure work that you can point to and say, "I helped build that"
- Room to grow — several of our team leads started in junior roles
- A straightforward, no-drama culture — we value people who show up, do good work, and look out for each other
We're not promising the flashiest office in Abu Dhabi, but we are promising real work, real colleagues, and a place where your effort is noticed. If that sounds like your kind of team, we'll see you on 10 November.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- You're setting out works on a road project and notice the levels in the field don't match the drawings. Walk me through how you'd handle that — who you'd inform and what you'd do next.
- For the site engineers and construction managers: tell me about a time a subcontractor fell behind schedule. What did you actually do, and what was the outcome?
- How do you typically prepare a BOQ for an infrastructure project, and where do you find variations tend to slip through if you're not careful?
- Describe your experience with UAE construction standards and practices. Which authorities have you dealt with, and what was that like?
- For the draftsmen: when a revision comes in on a set of infrastructure drawings, how do you make sure the site team is actually working from the latest version?
- As a safety officer, you spot a crew skipping a control measure to save time. What's your approach in that moment, especially if the foreman pushes back?
- Tell me about a time you had to coordinate with people from very different backgrounds or nationalities to get something done on site. How did you make it work?
- Imagine it's your first month and you're handed a task with unclear instructions. What do you do?
- Why this role, and why now? What are you hoping to find here that you haven't had elsewhere?
- Our pace is real and the work is hands-on — some days are long and unglamorous. What keeps you motivated on those days?
- If you had to explain to a colleague why accuracy matters so much in your part of the work, what would you say?
