What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare detailed steel structural drawings and fabrication plans using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
- Interpret and convert engineer’s sketches and specifications into accurate technical drawings for site and workshop use.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve design challenges and ensure constructability.
- Revise drawings per client or engineer feedback and maintain a thorough record of changes.
- Coordinate with other discipline draftsmen to ensure harmony and integration on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Double-check for compliance with relevant codes, standards, and Al Bayan’s own high expectations.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Diploma or relevant technical qualification in structural drafting or engineering.
- Proven experience drafting steel structures, ideally within the UAE or GCC.
- Expert-level skills in AutoCAD (and a bonus for Tekla Structures or similar software).
- Ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail — errors don’t slip past you.
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Previous experience working with engineering consultants.
- Knowledge of UAE building codes and regulations.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows or additional 3D modeling software.
