About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever wondered what it’s like to run the heart of a neighborhood? If you love the fast pace and daily buzz of supermarket life, and you know your way around both managing people and making tough calls, then this Supermarket Manager role in Al Jarf, Ajman, might be just what you’re looking for. We’re seeking someone ready to take on the responsibility of a busy store — building strong teams, delighting customers, and keeping everything running smoothly every single day.
About the Company
We’re a community-driven supermarket with deep roots in Ajman, where regular faces and genuine smiles matter as much as keeping the shelves stocked with fresh goods. Our team is a close-knit group — some of us have been here since opening day! We value trust, reliability, and a genuine desire to look after our customers. Don’t be surprised to find us celebrating team birthdays between the aisles or exchanging recipe tips at the checkout; little moments of connection are our thing.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, motivating, and training a diverse team — from floor staff to checkout operators — with patience and clarity.
- Overseeing daily operations: ensuring every department is running efficiently and every customer leaves happy.
- Driving sales and analyzing trends to make smart purchasing decisions based on demand and customer preferences.
- Maintaining inventory control: keeping shelves stocked (but not overstocked!), monitoring expiry dates, and reducing waste.
- Handling customer issues and queries promptly and professionally — whether it’s a missing item or a tricky return.
- Collaborating with suppliers and negotiating the best deals to ensure a consistent, quality product range.
- Enforcing store policies and safety standards, and pitching in wherever there’s a need.
- Keeping clear records, reports, and documentation up-to-date.
What You’ll Bring
- Must-Haves:
- Proven experience managing a supermarket, grocery, or high-volume retail store.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of sales, purchasing, and customer service in a supermarket context.
- Excellent communication skills (in English, Hindi, or other Indian languages are a bonus).
- Calm, solutions-oriented approach to day-to-day challenges.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask with attention to detail.
- Indian nationality (required for this position).
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Hands-on experience with POS and inventory management software.
- Local Ajman market knowledge or existing supplier relationships.
- Previous experience in a multicultural team environment.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive, stable salary that recognizes your expertise.
- Supportive, family-style team that genuinely values each other’s input.
- Opportunities for career growth as we expand — we love to promote from within.
- Flexible schedule and fair time-off policies.
- Store discounts, staff snacks, and team meals on special days (our biryani lunches are legendary!).
- A workplace where every day feels different, and your efforts are noticed.
If you’re ready to make your mark and grow in a friendly, community-focused environment, you’ll find a home here as part of our team.
