About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Ever walked past a gleaming glass tower and wondered who made sure every single frame, panel, and joint fit together without a hitch? That’s where you come in. We’re on the hunt for an experienced Aluminum Factory & Site Foreman to join our team in Dubai, and honestly, this isn’t your average "sit at a desk" kind of role. It’s a hands-on, fast-paced position where you’ll be the bridge between the factory floor and the high-rise construction sites that define this city. If you’ve got a knack for reading complex shop drawings and the leadership chops to keep a crew moving, this is your chance to leave a visible mark on the Dubai skyline.
About the Company
We’re a mid-sized but growing aluminum fabrication company that’s been quietly making a name for ourselves in the UAE market for the past decade. We specialize in everything from curtain walls and window systems to custom architectural facades for commercial and residential projects. The vibe here is practical and no-nonsense — we don’t do stiff corporate meetings or unnecessary bureaucracy. Instead, you’ll find a team of skilled fabricators, site installers, and project coordinators who take real pride in their craft. There’s a strong "we’re all in this together" mentality, and the management actually listens when you bring ideas to the table. It’s the kind of place where your boots get dirty, your opinion matters, and your hard work is recognized.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a dual-hat role — one day you might be deep in the factory overseeing a tricky fabrication run, and the next you’ll be out on a site in Business Bay making sure the installation crew is on point. Here’s a closer look at your day-to-day:
- Supervise and manage daily operations across both the aluminum factory floor and active project sites, ensuring everything runs on schedule without sacrificing quality.
- Coordinate the full fabrication-to-installation pipeline — from cutting and assembly in the workshop to the final glazing and fixing on site.
- Read, interpret, and execute aluminum shop drawings and fabrication details with precision. You’ll be the go-to person when a worker isn’t sure about a measurement or a connection detail.
- Allocate tasks to workers based on skill level and project priority, then monitor their productivity and performance throughout the day. You’re not just a boss — you’re a coach who helps your team improve.
- Troubleshoot on the fly. Whether it’s a material shortage, a dimensional discrepancy, or a site coordination issue, you’ll be the calm head that sorts it out before it becomes a costly delay.
- Conduct quality checks at key stages of fabrication and installation to make sure the finished product meets both our standards and the client’s expectations.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who’s been around the block with aluminum work — not just a manager, but a craftsman who understands the trade inside and out. Here’s what we need:
Must-Haves:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aluminum fabrication and site installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Solid ability to read and interpret aluminum shop drawings and fabrication details — this is non-negotiable.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum profiles, hardware, glazing systems, and installation techniques commonly used in the Gulf region.
- Proven leadership skills — you know how to motivate a diverse team and handle performance issues without creating drama.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills, especially when juggling factory priorities with site deadlines.
- A valid UAE driving license and the ability to travel between the factory and various project sites across Dubai.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with curtain wall systems and structural glazing.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and HSE practices on UAE construction sites.
- Basic computer skills for daily reporting and material tracking.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you. If you’ve got the core skills and the right attitude, there’s room to grow here.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Let’s be honest — construction work in Dubai can be intense, but we try to make it worth your while. Here’s what you can expect when you join our team:
- Competitive salary package that reflects your experience and the demands of the role.
- Accommodation and transportation provided — we know that makes life a whole lot easier.
- Health insurance for you and your family, because we want you to have peace of mind.
- Overtime opportunities during peak project phases, so your extra effort pays off.
- A stable pipeline of projects — we’ve got a busy schedule lined up for the year, so you won’t be worrying about job security.
- A supportive management team that trusts your judgment and gives you the autonomy to run your crew the way you see fit.
At the end of the day, we want you to feel like this is your operation. You’ll have the freedom to make decisions, the tools to do the job right, and a team that respects your leadership. If that sounds like the kind of environment where you’d thrive, we’d love to meet you.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
Walk me through a time when a fabrication detail on a shop drawing didn’t match the actual site conditions. How did you catch it, and what steps did you take to resolve it before it became a costly problem?
How do you prioritize work when the factory is behind on a fabrication run but a site crew is waiting for materials to start installation? Give me a real example of how you’d juggle that.
What’s your process for reading and interpreting a complex aluminum shop drawing? Walk me through the key details you check first, and how you make sure your team understands them the same way you do.
Tell me about a time you had to manage a worker who wasn’t performing up to standard. How did you handle the conversation, and what was the outcome?
If you arrive at a site and notice the installation crew is using the wrong glazing seals or hardware, what do you do in the moment? How do you correct it without grinding the whole operation to a halt?
Describe a situation where a material shortage threatened to delay a project. How did you troubleshoot it, and what did you do to keep the crew productive in the meantime?
How do you balance being a hands-on craftsman with being a supervisor? When do you step in and do the work yourself versus letting your team figure it out?
What’s your approach to quality checks during fabrication? Where do you see the most common mistakes happen, and how do you prevent them before they reach the site?
Tell me about a time you had to coordinate with project managers or site engineers who had a different idea of the timeline than you did. How did you align everyone and keep the project moving?
How do you keep a diverse team motivated when the work gets repetitive or the Dubai heat makes long days tough? What’s your style when it comes to building trust and respect on the floor?
