About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Do you thrive at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and making real connections? As our Business Development & Marketing Lead in Al Ain, you’ll have a front-row seat—and a driving role—in shaping the future of our growing engineering consultancy. It’s a unique chance to blend hands-on client interaction with the thrill of building a brand from the inside out. If you’re energized by making things happen and seeing your impact in real time, let’s talk.

About the Company

We’re a close-knit team of engineers, project managers, and creative thinkers who believe smart infrastructure can transform communities. Based in Al Ain, we pride ourselves on technical rigor—yes—but we’re equally passionate about building partnerships and leaving a mark on the built environment. You’ll find the office atmosphere open, supportive, and a bit unconventional (don’t be surprised if you’re roped into the occasional group lunch or brainstorming walk). We celebrate each win—and we’re hungry for more.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building and nurturing relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders—think meaningful, lasting connections, not one-off transactions.
  • Identifying new business opportunities in the market and designing outreach strategies to convert leads.
  • Developing and executing marketing campaigns, both online and offline, that showcase our technical edge and human touch.
  • Managing all company social media platforms—content creation, community engagement, analytics—the works.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to spotlight project successes and innovative solutions in compelling stories and case studies.
  • Representing the company at industry events, networking sessions, and local community meetups.
  • Regularly tracking performance metrics, market trends, and competitor activities to keep us one step ahead.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Proven experience in business development and/or marketing, ideally in the engineering or built environment sector.
  • Confident communicator—you know how to talk to everyone from technical experts to new clients.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving and brand storytelling.
  • Hands-on experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook), including content planning and engagement.
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Self-starter mindset—you see opportunities and go after them.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with the UAE market, particularly Al Ain and surrounding emirates.
  • Experience with CRM tools and/or basic design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • A genuine interest in engineering, construction, or infrastructure topics.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Clear pathway for growth as the team and our project portfolio expand.
  • Flexible work hours and occasional remote-work options—because work-life balance matters.
  • Regular learning sessions and industry event sponsorships to keep you sharp and inspired.
  • Supportive, collaborative colleagues who cheer for your wins and back you on new ideas.
  • Coffee, snacks, and a few inside office jokes that you’ll quickly become part of.

We believe in hard work, shared successes, and enjoying the journey together. If you’re ready to make a difference and help shape our story, you’ll fit right in.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

  • How do you approach identifying and prioritizing new business opportunities in a market that's both competitive and relationship-driven, like Al Ain?
  • Describe your experience managing social media for a company. How did you plan your content, and how did you measure community engagement and impact?

  • Tell us about a time you worked closely with technical experts (engineers, architects, etc.) to translate complex project successes into compelling stories or case studies for non-technical audiences.
  • Our brand blends technical expertise with a personal touch. How would you reflect both aspects in a marketing campaign or client pitch?
  • Share a situation where you encountered resistance from a potential client or industry partner. How did you turn things around (or what did you learn from the experience)?
  • Imagine you're representing us at a local industry event where you don't know anyone yet. How would you approach networking and starting genuine conversations?
  • When tracking performance metrics or observing competitor activities, what information do you find most valuable, and how do you translate your findings into actionable strategies?
  • How do you ensure your communication resonates with diverse audiences, from technical team members to clients with varying levels of industry knowledge?
  • Collaboration is key in our team. Can you give an example of a time you worked in a cross-functional group to achieve a business or marketing objective?
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a proactive mindset are essential in our culture. Share a story that demonstrates these qualities in your recent work.
  • What draws you to the engineering consultancy space, and how do you stay inspired and informed about trends in infrastructure or construction?
