About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Ever wondered what it’s like to be the calm, organized anchor in a fast-paced kitchen? If you thrive on keeping things moving smoothly and have a knack for juggling multiple orders without breaking a sweat, this could be your next move. We’re on the hunt for a Cashier or Order Captain to join our cloud kitchen in Mirdif, Dubai — someone who can handle the front-line chaos (in the best way possible) while making sure every order that goes out is accurate, timely, and wrapped with care. This isn't just another retail cashier gig; it's a role that sits right at the heart of Dubai’s booming food delivery scene, where every click, call, and courier handoff matters.

About the Company

We’re a cloud kitchen concept that’s all about quality food, smart systems, and a team that actually enjoys working together. No dining room, no front-of-house theatrics — just a focused, energetic kitchen environment where the real action happens behind the scenes. We’ve built our reputation on consistency and speed, and honestly, we take a little pride in being the place where delivery riders know exactly where to go and orders are never a guessing game.

Our team is small enough that your voice matters, but busy enough that every shift flies by. We value people who take ownership, communicate clearly, and don’t mind a bit of hustle when the lunch rush hits. If you’ve ever worked in a kitchen or delivery-focused setup, you know the vibe — it’s fast, it’s loud at times, but it’s also incredibly rewarding when everything clicks.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning the front counter (or the tablet, really): You’ll be the go-to person for all cash transactions, whether it’s walk-in pickups or handling payments on delivery platforms like Talabat, Deliveroo, and Careem Food.
  • Keeping tabs on incoming orders: You’ll monitor the delivery apps closely, confirming orders, updating statuses, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks during peak hours.
  • Coordinating with the kitchen team: Clear communication is everything here. You’ll relay order details, flag any special requests, and help pace the kitchen so food goes out hot and on time.
  • Managing courier handoffs: You’ll be the point of contact for riders — checking order numbers, sealing bags properly, and ensuring every delivery leaves with the right items.
  • Balancing the till: End-of-day cash reconciliation, keeping receipts organized, and flagging any discrepancies. Basically, you’ll be the one who makes sure the numbers add up.
  • Handling customer queries: Whether it’s a quick phone call or a message through the app, you’ll be the friendly voice that resolves issues calmly and professionally.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Previous experience in cashiering, ideally in a restaurant, café, or quick-service environment.
  • Hands-on experience with food delivery platforms — you should know your way around Talabat, Deliveroo, or similar apps without needing a tutorial.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English — you’ll be communicating with customers, riders, and team members across both languages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay composed when orders pile up.
  • Immediate availability to join — we’re ready to move quickly for the right person.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic spreadsheet or reporting tools.
  • A background in cloud kitchens or delivery-only concepts — but honestly, if you’re a quick learner with solid cashiering experience, we can work with that.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you. Sometimes the right attitude and a willingness to learn matter more than a perfect checklist.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Visa sponsorship and medical benefits — we handle the paperwork so you can focus on the job.
  • Incentives tied to performance — when the team hits targets, you’ll see the reward, not just hear about it.
  • A steady, reliable schedule in a role that doesn’t come with the typical ups and downs of front-of-house hospitality.
  • Room to grow — cloud kitchens are expanding fast in Dubai, and we like to promote from within when the right person shows up.
  • A team that actually communicates — no egos, no drama, just people who show up, do their part, and help each other out when it gets busy.

At the end of the day, this is a role where your organizational skills and calm demeanor will genuinely make a difference. If you’re ready to jump into a kitchen that values speed, accuracy, and teamwork — and you can start right away — we’d love to meet you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through how you’d handle a sudden rush of ten incoming orders across three different delivery apps at the same time — what’s your first move, and how do you keep the kitchen informed without creating chaos?

  • Imagine a courier arrives to pick up an order, but you realize the bag is missing an item that’s still being cooked. The rider is in a hurry and the customer is already waiting. How do you handle that conversation and the timing?

  • Describe a time when you had to reconcile a cash register that didn’t match at the end of the day. What steps did you take to figure out where the discrepancy came from?

  • If a customer calls to say their delivery arrived cold and they want a refund, but the order left the kitchen perfectly sealed and on time, how would you navigate that conversation while protecting both the company’s interests and the customer’s trust?

  • You’re juggling a walk-in pickup, a phone inquiry, and a tablet notification for a new order all at once. How do you prioritize, and what system do you use to make sure nothing gets forgotten?

  • Tell me about your experience with Talabat, Deliveroo, or similar platforms — have you ever had to troubleshoot an order that got stuck in “preparing” status or had to manually confirm something when the system lagged?

  • Give me an example of a time you caught a mistake before it went out the door — whether it was a wrong item, a missing side, or a mislabeled bag. What did you do, and how did you communicate it to the team?

  • How do you stay calm and clear-headed when the kitchen is behind and riders are waiting? What does your internal script look like in those high-pressure moments?

  • What does “taking ownership” mean to you in a role like this? Can you share a situation where you went beyond just doing your assigned tasks to make sure the whole operation ran smoother?

  • You’

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For this cashier/order captain role in a Dubai cloud kitchen, you should expect a salary of at least 3,500 to 4,500 AED per month as your base. Similar front-line positions in Dubai's food delivery and quick-service sector typically land in this range, especially since you're bringing bilingual skills and direct experience with platforms like Talabat and Deliveroo. Given the visa sponsorship, medical benefits, and performance incentives mentioned, this package is fairly competitive for the role's level, though don't hesitate to negotiate toward the higher end if you have solid cloud kitchen experience.
