About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever pictured yourself at the center of a thriving construction site, where your decisions genuinely make a visible difference? As our new Civil Construction Foreman, you’ll be the connective force bringing plans off the page and into reality. This isn’t just a job — it’s your chance to take charge of the daily pulse of a major building construction project and see your leadership impact everything from the first dig to the final concrete pour.
About the Company
We’re a tight-knit crew of construction professionals who believe that every building should reflect not just expertise, but pride. While our portfolio covers everything from bold new developments to community-driven spaces, what really sets us apart is our people-first approach. Weekly safety breakfasts, ‘open door’ management, and an easy camaraderie on site are kind of our trademarks. Growth is very real here: some of us started in boots and hard hats and now lead project teams of our own.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee all site operations daily, ensuring that work moves forward safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
- Coordinate and direct site crews, subcontractors, and suppliers — keeping everyone aligned and motivated
- Monitor key civil activities, including excavation, concreting, blockwork, plastering, roadworks, and hardscaping
- Read and interpret drawings, site layouts, and specifications; trouble-shoot issues with a hands-on approach
- Ensure materials are delivered, stored, and used correctly (and sound the alarm if there’s a shortage or hiccup!)
- Conduct safety checks, uphold best practices, and coach team members to create a culture of care, not just compliance
- Track site progress alongside project schedules, flag risks, and help keep everything (and everyone) on target
- Liaise with project engineers and site management, providing updates and raising any site-level concerns early
- Foster a collaborative, supportive atmosphere on site — leadership through respect and practical problem-solving
