About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it takes to turn a patch of sand into a structure that stands proud against the Dubai skyline? We're looking for a Civil Engineer who knows the answer firsthand — someone who's spent years on-site, not just in the office, and who understands that good construction is equal parts precision, patience, and practical know-how. This role puts you at the heart of RCC and steel fixing execution, where the details genuinely matter and your experience will be valued from day one.

About the Company

We're a growing construction firm with a reputation built on doing things properly — no shortcuts, no cutting corners. Our teams work across residential and commercial projects in Dubai, and we've earned our standing the old-fashioned way: by delivering quality work on time and treating our people well. Site meetings are frank, Fridays are a little more relaxed than the rest of the week, and there's a genuine sense of shared purpose among the crew. If you're tired of being just a number on a payroll sheet, you'll fit right in here.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervise and execute RCC works on-site, from formwork and reinforcement to pouring and curing — making sure every stage meets specification and stands up to scrutiny.
  • Oversee steel fixing activities with a hands-on approach, checking bar bending schedules, spacing, and lap lengths so nothing gets left to chance.
  • Interpret structural drawings and coordinate with consultants and subcontractors to keep the build moving without compromising quality.
  • Ensure full compliance with Dubai Municipality and DEWA regulations, standards, and approval processes — you'll be the go-to person for keeping us on the right side of the rules.
  • Monitor concrete structures throughout construction, identifying issues early and proposing practical solutions before they become problems.
  • Prepare site reports, attend progress meetings, and keep the project team informed of technical developments and any deviations from plan.
  • Mentor junior engineers and site staff, sharing the kind of knowledge that only comes from years of real-world execution.

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • A minimum of 5 years of UAE experience in civil construction — you know the local landscape, literally and figuratively.
  • Strong, practical experience in RCC works and steel fixing execution. Not just theoretical — you've been there, checked the rebar, and signed off on the pour.
  • Solid knowledge of concrete structures, construction methodologies, and the nuances that separate a good build from a great one.
  • Thorough understanding of Dubai Municipality and DEWA rules, regulations, standards, and requirements — including the approval and inspection processes that come with them.
  • A civil engineering degree and the confidence to communicate clearly with consultants, clients, and site teams alike.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with high-rise or mixed-use developments.
  • Familiarity with project management software and digital reporting tools.
  • A valid UAE driving licence (helpful for site visits, though not a dealbreaker).

Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — sometimes the right person brings more than a checklist can capture.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary that reflects your experience — we believe in paying properly for good people.
  • Medical insurance and annual leave as per UAE labour law, plus the usual visa and onboarding support.
  • Real career growth — we promote from within and invest in training for the people who show up and put in the work.
  • A collaborative site culture where your opinion counts and your experience is respected, not dismissed.
  • Varied projects that keep the work interesting — no two sites are the same, and neither are the challenges.
  • Supportive leadership that understands construction is a team effort, not a solo sport.

At the end of the day, this is a place where you can do the work you're good at, with people who care about getting it right. If that sounds like your kind of environment, we'd be glad to have a conversation.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through a recent RCC project you supervised from formwork through curing. What stages did you personally sign off on, and where did you have to step in to correct course?
  • How do you go about checking a bar bending schedule against what's actually happening on-site? Tell us about a time you caught a discrepancy before it became a problem.
  • Dubai Municipality and DEWA approvals can make or break a programme. Describe your experience with their inspection and approval processes — what's your approach to keeping a project compliant without slowing everything to a crawl?
  • You notice a deviation from the structural drawings during a pour. The subcontractor says it's minor and the consultant isn't on-site. What do you do?
  • Talk about a time a concrete structure showed signs of an issue — cracking, honeycombing, whatever it was — during construction. How did you identify it, and what did you propose?
  • How comfortable are you mentoring junior engineers and site staff? Give us an example of something you've taught someone that made a real difference to how they work.
  • Describe a situation where a consultant or subcontractor disagreed with your technical judgement. How did you handle it, and what was the outcome?
  • Site pressure is real — programme slipping, crew stretched thin, consultant asking questions. How do you prioritise when everything feels urgent?
  • What's your experience with high-rise or mixed-use developments, and what did those projects teach you that lower-rise work didn't?
  • Tell us about a project you're genuinely proud of. What was your part in it, and what made it stand out?
  • How do you like to communicate technical developments and deviations to the wider project team? Do you lean on reports, meetings, or something else entirely?
  • We're a firm that doesn't cut corners, even when it's inconvenient. Can you think of a time you held that line on-site? What did it cost you, and would you do it again?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a mid-to-senior Civil Engineer with 5+ years of UAE site experience in RCC and steel fixing, similar roles in Dubai typically offer somewhere between 10,000 and 16,000 AED per month, depending on the company's size and project scale. Given the hands-on execution focus and Dubai Municipality/DEWA knowledge this role demands, you should expect a salary of at least 12,000 AED — and don't hesitate to push toward the higher end if you bring high-rise experience or strong consultant coordination skills. It's also worth asking about site allowances, transport, and project bonuses, since these can add meaningful value on top of the base figure.
