About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered how the backbone of Abu Dhabi’s world-class roads gets built? Here’s your chance to find out. We’re looking for an experienced Civil Engineer (Roads & Infrastructure) who’s ready to dive in—urgently. If you enjoy fast-paced projects and the satisfaction of seeing your work make a mark on the city’s landscape, this could be exactly where you belong.

About the Company

Tucked inside the industrious buzz of Mussafah, our company has been helping shape Abu Dhabi’s major roadways and infrastructure for over a decade. We’re a tight-knit crew—think of us as problem-solvers with muddy boots and blueprints in our hands, fueled by big ambitions and even bigger cups of coffee. Here, hustle meets heart: our managers roll up their sleeves alongside our engineers, and sharing knowledge is the rule, not the exception. Friday site walkthroughs and milestone celebrations are a proud tradition.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing daily onsite progress for roads and general infrastructure projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinating closely with site supervisors, surveyors, and subcontractors to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Reviewing project drawings, technical specs, and client requirements (and catching potential issues before they catch us).
  • Preparing progress reports and documentation for project managers and clients—your handwriting might even make it into meetings.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out according to health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Attending site meetings and providing technical support or solutions on the spot.
  • Communicating with our procurement team to order materials and manage supply flow for the site.
  • Working on multiple projects—and helping pick up the slack when things get busy (which they often do).

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in roads & infrastructure projects (UAE experience highly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of local standards, asphalt, earthworks, and drainage systems.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and basic project management tools.
  • Fluent English; Arabic skills are a plus.
  • Immediate availability (we really mean it—yesterday would have been ideal).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • SOE membership in Abu Dhabi.
  • Valid UAE driving license.
  • Experience coordinating with government entities or consultants.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary, paid on time (we know people say it, but we really mean it).
  • Single accommodation provided in Mussafah, so you’re close to the action.
  • Annual flight allowance to help you stay connected with home.
  • Health insurance from day one—no waiting or wondering.
  • Onsite support and mentorship from seasoned project managers.
  • The camaraderie of a team that respects hard work and celebrates finishing ahead of schedule.
  • Growth opportunities as the company expands across the Emirates.

We know roads aren’t built in a day, but we do everything we can to make every workday rewarding, collaborative, and just a bit different from the last.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your experience overseeing road and infrastructure projects, particularly in the UAE, and share how you navigated any unique challenges?
  • When reviewing project drawings and technical specs, what steps do you take to ensure potential issues are addressed before work begins onsite?
  • How do you prioritize tasks and multitask effectively when managing multiple active sites under tight deadlines?
  • Can you describe your familiarity with asphalt works, earthworks, and drainage systems in accordance with Abu Dhabi standards?
  • Tell us about a time you coordinated closely with site supervisors, surveyors, and subcontractors to resolve an onsite issue quickly—what approach did you take?
  • What project management tools or software have you used for reporting progress or managing documentation, and how do you tailor your communication for project managers and clients?
  • How do you ensure all onsite activities comply with strict health, safety, and quality standards, especially during high-pressure moments?
  • Describe a situation where last-minute changes to a project required you to adjust material procurement. How did you manage communication and minimize delays?
  • Have you ever attended meetings with government entities or client consultants? What strategies did you use to meet their expectations and address technical questions on the spot?
  • Our team values hands-on problem-solving. Can you share an example where you rolled up your sleeves to support a colleague or help the site meet a key milestone?
  • How do you stay motivated and maintain momentum during long project phases or challenging days in the field?
  • In our company, mentorship and knowledge sharing are key. How do you approach learning from seasoned managers, and in turn, supporting less experienced teammates?
  • What draws you to work in a tight-knit team environment, and how do you contribute to a positive, collaborative culture—especially during hectic periods?
  • With immediate availability being crucial, how comfortable are you with jumping into ongoing projects and adapting quickly to our workflow?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a Civil Engineer with at least 4 years of experience in roads and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi, you should expect a salary of at least 8,000 to 12,000 AED per month. Similar roles in the UAE, especially those requiring hands-on site management and local standards expertise, often fall within this range—sometimes higher, depending on your exact experience and credentials. Given that accommodation is included, this package would be competitive and in line with industry averages.
