About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever found yourself on site—blueprints in one hand, high-vis vest on, scanning the work and thinking, “I could take this project to the next level”? If you’re a civil engineer with a knack for both construction execution and fit out detail, this might be the role you’ve been waiting for. In this position, you’ll take projects from paper to reality, making sure every nut, bolt, and handover document meets the standard–and then some. If you call Ajman or Sharjah home, and you like having real responsibility, you’ll feel right at home with us.

About the Company

We’re a close-knit team of construction professionals who believe there’s an art to building great spaces—whether it’s a high-spec office fit out or a sturdy new build. Our office chatter is just as likely to be about new project material samples as it is about yesterday’s football results. We move fast, we value precision, and we genuinely care about seeing the results of our work standing tall in the Sharjah skyline. Here, your ideas and know-how won’t get lost—they’ll shape the way we deliver excellence on every job. Fridays often mean impromptu site walkthroughs and shared biryani after a week well done.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee daily site operations for construction and fit out works, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
  • Maintain a keen eye for workmanship during on-site execution—no detail’s too small for your standard
  • Prepare, organize, and submit all required documentation and reports to the Consultant, keeping paperwork smooth and stress-free
  • Coordinate with suppliers, trades, subcontractors, and internal teams to anticipate and solve site challenges
  • Conduct regular quality checks and snagging, swiftly addressing issues before they become problems
  • Lead site meetings, liaise with consultants and clients—always representing the company with professionalism and positivity
  • Keep precise records and photos of site progress, ready to support submissions and keep everyone up to speed
  • Use your car and license (a must!) to move efficiently between office, site, and meetings, mostly within Sharjah

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or similar technical background)
  • Minimum 5 years’ direct experience in construction and fit out, ideally in the UAE
  • Hands-on expertise in site execution, quality control, paperwork preparation, and consultant submissions
  • Valid UAE driving license and ownership of a personal vehicle
  • Residency in Ajman or Sharjah (priority given to local candidates)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Methodical organization and a proactive, problem-solving mindset

Nice-to-Haves

  • Valid Emirates ID and current residency visa
  • Previous coordination with consultants in Sharjah projects
  • Familiarity with both Arabic and English technical documentation

Not sure you meet every single requirement? If your skills and passion align with this work, we’d still love to connect.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary with room for growth as you prove yourself
  • Site location in Sharjah—no long desert commutes if you call this area home
  • Supportive management that values initiative, honesty, and accountability
  • Direct impact: see your work shape real projects from start to finish
  • Team camaraderie—expect honest discussions, practical jokes, and plenty of learning on the job
  • Annual leave, national holidays, and overtime compensation when needed
  • Opportunities for hands-on learning (and career advancement) as we continue to grow

This is the kind of workplace where your engineering expertise actually matters. Here, your day-to-day decisions make the difference between “just another building” and a project you’ll point out with pride for years to come.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through a recent fit out project you managed from initial execution to final handover? What were the key technical challenges you faced, and how did you overcome them on site?
  • When reviewing blueprints or construction drawings, what specific details do you typically pay closest attention to before work begins?
  • Tell us about a time when you had to coordinate multiple subcontractors and suppliers to resolve a site issue under tight deadlines. How did you keep the project on track?
  • How do you organize and prepare documentation and reports for consultant submissions? Any process you follow to ensure accuracy and timely delivery?
  • What steps do you take during regular quality checks and snagging to ensure that workmanship meets project standards before handover?
  • Describe your approach to leading site meetings and ensuring that communication between consultants, internal teams, and clients stays positive and productive.
  • Can you share an example where you identified a potential problem during site execution before it became a larger issue? How did you address it?
  • Working mostly within Sharjah and Ajman, how do you make the best use of your own transport to juggle office, site visits, and meetings efficiently?
  • Company culture is important to us. How do you contribute to a team atmosphere where feedback, practical jokes, and honest discussions are all part of the week’s workflow?
  • In our environment, people often take initiative. Can you describe a moment when you proactively improved a process or solved a problem without direct instruction?
  • We value clear and timely communication, especially when things get busy. How do you balance multiple demands while keeping everyone—from your team to consultants—in the loop?
  • Tell us about a time you had to handle conflicting priorities on site. How did you manage expectations and make sure the project continued smoothly?
  • What attracted you to construction and fit out work in Sharjah, and what motivates you to tackle the unique challenges that come with local projects?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a civil engineer with at least 5 years of hands-on site and fit out experience in Sharjah or Ajman, you should expect a monthly salary in the range of 7,000 to 11,000 AED, depending on your exact level of expertise and the complexity of projects you’ve handled in the UAE. Similar roles in the local market often offer additional benefits like overtime pay, annual leave, and occasionally a transport allowance—though in this case, having your own vehicle is expected. Aim for the upper end of this range if you bring strong consultant coordination experience and sharp quality control skills.
