About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever wondered what it takes to turn a blank wall into something people actually stop and admire? We're looking for painters who take real pride in that transformation — the kind of people who notice a crooked line of trim from across the room. Umar Abdullah Technical Services L.L.C. is hiring experienced painters to work across villas, apartments, offices, and commercial spaces throughout Dubai, and with projects starting now, immediate joining is available. If you've got steady hands and a couple of years of real painting experience behind you, this could be your next steady gig in a city that's always building something.
About Us
Umar Abdullah Technical Services L.L.C. is a Dubai-based technical services company that handles painting projects of every scale — from a single apartment refresh to full villa and commercial fit-outs. We're a hands-on team: the supervisor knows every site personally, and good work gets noticed and rewarded. We keep our crews small enough that everyone knows each other, but busy enough that there's always the next project lined up. If you do clean, careful work, you'll fit right in here.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare surfaces properly — filling cracks, sanding, priming, and masking — because a great finish starts long before the first coat
- Apply interior paint to walls, ceilings, and trim across villas, apartments, offices, and commercial spaces
- Match colours and finishes accurately, whether it's a fresh white for a rental unit or a feature wall a client has been dreaming about
- Work neatly and protect floors, furniture, and fittings while you're on site
- Coordinate with the site supervisor and other trades so projects stay on schedule
- Keep your tools, materials, and work area in good order at the end of each day
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves:
- At least 2 years of experience in painting, with solid interior painting skills
- Ability to prepare surfaces and apply paint to a clean, professional standard
- Reliability — showing up on time, every day, ready to work
- Willingness to work across different sites in Dubai as projects require
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with exterior painting or decorative finishes
- A valid UAE driving licence (helpful, not essential)
- Basic English or Arabic for communicating with clients and supervisors
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — experience and attitude matter more to us than a perfect checklist.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Salary of AED 1,800–2,500, based on your experience and skill level
- Work visa provided by the company
- Immediate joining available — no long waiting game
- Steady project flow across Dubai, so you're not sitting idle between jobs
- A team that values good craftsmanship and treats its painters with respect
- Room to grow — reliable painters who do quality work get first pick of the next projects
We're not promising the flashiest package in the city, but we are promising fair pay, consistent work, and a team that appreciates a job done properly. If that sounds like the kind of place you'd like to hang your cap, we'd be glad to have you on board.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you prep a wall that’s got hairline cracks and old paint peeling at the edges — what’s your step-by-step before the first coat goes on?
- Colour matching is a big part of this job. Tell me about a time a client wanted a specific shade and the match wasn’t quite right — how did you handle it?
- What’s your approach to cutting in a clean line where a wall meets the ceiling, and how do you deal with trim that isn’t perfectly straight?
- Describe your process for protecting a furnished apartment before you start painting. What do you cover, and in what order?
- Have you done any exterior or decorative work — textured finishes, feature walls, that sort of thing? Talk me through what you did.
- You’re on a villa project and the supervisor asks you to finish two rooms by end of day, but the other trade hasn’t finished their work in one of them. What do you do?
- Tell me about a time you spotted a problem on site that wasn’t your responsibility — a crooked fitting, a damaged surface — and what you did about it.
- Paint jobs rarely go perfectly. Can you share an instance where something went wrong mid-project and how you sorted it out?
- How do you keep track of your tools and materials when you’re moving between different sites across Dubai each week?
- This role means early starts and different locations depending on the project. How do you make sure you’re on time and ready, even when the site changes?
- What does a job done properly look like to you? When you step back at the end of the day, what are you checking for?
- We keep our crews small, so you’ll often be working closely with the same few people. How do you handle it when a teammate’s prep work isn’t up to your standard?
