About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Join Our Sweet Team at a Cozy Chocolate & Coffee Shop in Ajman
Ever dreamed of spending your workday surrounded by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the irresistible charm of handcrafted chocolates? If you're a people-person with a flair for sales, this could be the role you've been waiting for. We're looking for a friendly, motivated female sales staff member to join our team at a chocolate and coffee shop in the Liwara area of Ajman. It's not just a job — it's a chance to be part of a warm, welcoming space where customers come for treats and leave with smiles.
About Us
We're a boutique chocolate and coffee shop that takes pride in offering a personal touch. Our little corner of Ajman has become a favorite spot for locals who appreciate quality sweets, freshly brewed coffee, and genuine hospitality. We're a small, close-knit team, and we treat each other like family. If you enjoy a workplace where your effort is noticed and your ideas are heard, you'll feel right at home here.
We believe that great service starts with happy staff. That's why we keep things simple, supportive, and drama-free — because when you're passionate about what you do, it shows in every interaction with our customers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Greeting customers warmly and helping them find the perfect chocolate or coffee to brighten their day
- Handling sales transactions accurately and efficiently, whether it's a quick espresso or a gift box of assorted truffles
- Keeping the shop looking its best — from neatly arranged display cases to a clean and inviting seating area
- Sharing your knowledge of our products with customers, offering recommendations and answering questions
- Managing stock levels and letting the team know when it's time to reorder popular items
- Supporting your teammates during busy periods, because teamwork makes the (chocolate) dream work
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Previous experience in sales, ideally in a chocolate, sweets, or similar retail shop
- Strong communication and customer service skills — you genuinely enjoy helping people
- A valid UAE residence visa (must be currently valid)
- Availability to work the evening shift, starting at 3:00 PM
Nice-to-Haves:
- A passion for coffee or chocolate (honestly, this one might be a must-have too!)
- Basic math skills for handling cash and card payments
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you. Sometimes the best hires are the ones who bring enthusiasm and a willingness to grow over a perfect resume.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary of AED 2,000 plus additional allowances
- Evening shift schedule — perfect if you prefer starting your day later
- A friendly, supportive team that celebrates wins together and helps each other out
- Employee discounts on our delicious chocolates and coffee (yes, really)
- A chance to grow — we're a small business, but we're always looking for ways to help our team develop
We know that great workplaces aren't just about perks — they're about feeling valued. Here, you'll be more than just an employee; you'll be part of a team that genuinely cares about your well-being and your success. If you're ready to bring your energy and sales skills to a place where every day smells like fresh coffee and chocolate, we can't wait to meet you.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you'd handle a busy evening rush when there's a line at the counter and a customer asking for a detailed recommendation on our truffle selection.
- Can you describe your experience with sales in a retail setting, particularly in a chocolate, sweets, or specialty food shop?
- How would you approach upselling or suggesting add-ons — like a box of chocolates with a coffee order — without making the customer feel pressured?
- What steps do you take to keep a retail space clean, organized, and inviting throughout your shift, especially during quieter moments?
- If you noticed we were running low on a popular item during your shift, how would you handle it and communicate it to the team?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult or unhappy customer. How did you resolve the situation?
- Describe a moment when you went out of your way to make a customer's day — what did you do and what was the outcome?
- How do you stay motivated and keep a positive attitude during a slow shift or when you're working alone on the floor?
- Imagine a coworker is struggling to keep up during a busy period. What would you do to support them?
- What draws you to working in a chocolate and coffee shop specifically, rather than a larger retail environment?
- How do you handle feedback or criticism from a manager or teammate? Can you give an example?
- What does great customer service mean to you, and how do you personally deliver it?
