About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever pictured yourself at the heart of a well-run construction site, where your eye for detail makes all the difference? We’re on the hunt for a dedicated Finishing Foreman to join our growing team in Ajman. In this role, you’ll be a key player in orchestrating interior and exterior finishing works, ensuring projects not only come together on time but reach the caliber we’re known for. If you thrive on planning, coordination, and turning blueprints into reality — and you’ve got a valid UAE driving license — this could be your next big step.

About the Company

We’re a mid-sized, family-led construction company that’s proud to call Ajman home. Our team balances decades of industry experience with a can-do spirit and a surprisingly collaborative culture. Here, clear communication is our baseline, genuine respect is the standard, and weekly team lunches are actually looked forward to. We believe the strongest builds happen when everyone feels ownership — from site workers to site leaders.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing daily finishing activities on both interior and exterior parts of the project site.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings — then translating them into actionable plans for your team and subcontractors.
  • Assigning daily tasks to workers based on skillsets, workload, and project priorities.
  • Continuously checking completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specs.
  • Measuring, calculating, and verifying quantities for finishing materials.
  • Coordinating schedules between trades — think electricians, painters, carpenters — to prevent bottlenecks and improve workflow.
  • Acting as a hands-on liaison between the site team, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Proactively identifying issues and suggesting on-the-spot solutions to keep everything on track.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to safety guidelines for workers and site visitors.
  • Maintaining detailed site records and reporting progress or challenges to management.
  • Occasionally stepping in to assist with hands-on finishing work where necessary (yes, we mean rolling up your sleeves).

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Demonstrated experience supervising finishing works (minimum 3 years in a similar role).
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and communicate construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Proven track record in coordinating trades and delivering projects as per deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of finishing techniques, materials, and quality standards in both interiors and exteriors.
  • Confident in measuring and ensuring accuracy on-site.
  • UAE driving license (non-negotiable, as you’ll need to move between sites).
  • Effective communicator in English (and ideally, some spoken Hindi or Arabic).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Basic computer skills for site reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of finishing materials and methods.
  • Previous experience working with a diverse, multicultural site team.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary, always paid on time.
  • Year-round, secure projects — no “seasonal slump.”
  • Weekly site team breakfasts (we take our coffee breaks seriously).
  • Supportive management who value practical expertise over empty jargon.
  • Opportunities for career growth — we promote from within whenever possible.
  • Transport allowance and mobile phone coverage for site-related calls.
  • Open-door policy and real recognition for great work — if you do well, you’ll hear about it.
  • Most sites in central Ajman, so your commute is short and sweet.

We know what it takes to deliver quality — but we also know it takes a team that feels respected and supported to do their best work. If you’re ready to build a future with us, let’s talk.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you describe your experience managing finishing works on both interior and exterior construction projects? What types of materials and techniques have you worked with most extensively?
  • Walk me through how you read and interpret technical drawings, and how you translate those into actionable instructions for your crew or subcontractors.
  • How do you coordinate scheduling between different trades, like electricians and painters, to keep projects on track and prevent delays?
  • Tell us about a time you identified a quality or compliance issue after work was completed. What steps did you take to address it with your team?
  • How do you ensure precise measurements and materials calculations on-site, especially when dealing with tight deadlines?
  • Have you ever had to step in and perform hands-on finishing work to help your team meet a project milestone? How did you balance leadership with being “on the tools”?
  • Picture a scenario where a subcontractor is falling behind. How would you handle the situation to keep the project moving forward?
  • Describe how you approach maintaining detailed site records and reporting progress or challenges to your management team.
  • Can you give an example of a time you successfully communicated across a multicultural team, perhaps overcoming a language barrier?
  • In stressful moments on-site, what strategies do you use to keep the team motivated and maintain a positive work atmosphere?
  • What does “ownership” on the job site mean to you, and how do you encourage it in others?
  • How do you ensure everyone on your team follows safety guidelines, even during busy periods or when under pressure to deliver?
  • Why are you interested in working with a mid-sized, family-run construction firm like ours rather than a larger or more corporate organization?
  • Our team values clear communication and recognition for good work. How do you like to give and receive feedback in a team setting?
