About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever thought about working in a peaceful, traditional home where cooking skills are as valued as a spotless kitchen? We’re searching for a reliable and detail-oriented live-in housemaid to join our small family of two in a classic Arab house in Ajman, Rashidiya 3. If you take pride in both housekeeping and the flavors of Gulf cuisine, this could be the role where your talents truly shine.
About the Family & Home
Picture an old-style Arab home — high ceilings, a sense of heritage, and a relaxed rhythm that makes you feel part of something special. Our family is just two people, so you’ll never be overwhelmed or juggling kids; it’s all about quality, not quantity here. We value trust, honesty, and a positive attitude above all else. We believe in giving space to work independently, as long as the work is done with care.
You’ll find that while we respect tradition, we like our home warm and welcoming (and yes — we notice the little extra touches).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keeping the home impeccably clean — from daily tidying to deep cleaning (and we do appreciate attention to corners and details).
- Cooking daily meals featuring classic Arab and Gulf recipes — your own special twists are welcome if you have them!
- Managing the laundry and ironing with care for traditional garments and everyday clothes.
- Handling shopping lists, basic kitchen inventory, and meal prep needs.
- Organizing cupboards, supplies, and communal spaces so everything is easy to find (we love order).
- Taking care of the little things, like fresh tea or keeping the majlis welcoming.
- Working with minimal supervision — you’ll be trusted to handle routines as you see fit.
- Maintaining respect for the family’s privacy, space, and way of life.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Previous experience as a housemaid or domestic helper (especially if you’ve worked in Gulf homes)
- Strong cooking skills in Arab and Gulf cuisine — from breakfast staples to main courses
- High standards in cleaning, organization, and personal hygiene
- Trustworthiness and a discreet approach to working in a family setting
- Serious, mature attitude and ability to work independently without repeated instructions
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working in older/traditional style homes
- Ability to adapt to new recipes or suggest menu ideas
- Conversational Arabic or English
Not sure if you tick every single box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive salary: AED 1200, with potential increase to AED 1300 for outstanding performance
- Private accommodation within the home — your own space, no shared rooms
- Calm work environment with just two adults, no children or extra families
- Opportunity to develop and showcase your cooking skills daily
- Direct, honest communication and respect for your role
- You’ll be part of a family who values consistency, loyalty, and someone who enjoys their craft
If you’re serious, dependable, and looking for a dignified place to call home while you work — this is that rare opening that doesn’t come around often. We’re looking forward to finding the right fit who will treat our home as their own.
