About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Are you a Mechanical Engineer dreaming of taking your first steps into the dynamic world of Abu Dhabi’s construction industry? Here’s a real chance to get your hands on projects that shape the city. Our team is searching for a Mechanical Engineer with at least one year of hands-on experience in contracting — someone ready to roll up their sleeves and ensure mechanical works happen smoothly, safely, and on time. If you’ve been looking for a place where your voice matters and your growth is supported, this might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
About the Company
Nestled in the heart of Al Nahyan, our mid-sized contracting company is known for its collaborative spirit and a reputation for getting things done right. We’re big on respect, communication, and practical problem-solving — “no egos, just solutions” could be our unofficial motto. Most days, you’ll find the team catching up over strong coffee before site meetings, celebrating each project milestone, and always looking out for one another. Our culture emphasizes mentorship; many of our managers started in junior roles and believe in lifting the next generation of engineers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervising day-to-day HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting installations on active sites — making sure everything meets safety and quality standards.
- Preparing daily technical reports that give management a clear picture of site progress, snag lists, and resource needs.
- Coordinating closely with the site teams, electrical engineers, and project managers to iron out scheduling or technical challenges before they become headaches.
- Ensuring subcontractors and site labor follow project specifications and local regulations, troubleshooting on the fly when things don’t go as planned.
- Supporting project meetings with clear, practical input — your observations will help shape solutions.
- Occasionally pitching in on site planning and materials coordination to keep projects moving forward.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working on mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting) within contract-based construction projects.
- Familiarity with technical reports and site documentation.
- A collaborative attitude and basic knowledge of industry safety practices.
- Solid communication skills — in English (Arabic is a bonus).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior experience working in Abu Dhabi or UAE construction environments.
- Exposure to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools.
Not sure if you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Competitive, reliable salary paid on time — with clear expectations from day one.
- Supportive project leads invested in your learning and professional development.
- Strong culture of teamwork, where questions are encouraged and knowledge-sharing is the norm.
- Regular site-based experience (never boring!), but with sensible working hours to avoid burnout.
- Occasional team lunches and informal check-ins — we believe good work happens when people feel seen and valued.
- Convenient Al Nahyan location, close to city amenities and transport.
You’ll gain valuable experience, work alongside people who care about your success, and have a say in the way projects unfold. If you’re ready to take your engineering career up a notch, we hope you’ll give us a shout.
