About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever wondered what it’s like to keep the wheels (sometimes literally) turning for some of Abu Dhabi’s most dynamic construction projects? At Shams Al Jubail Roads Contracting L.C., we’re searching for an Operations Manager who’s ready to tackle the fast-paced world of transportation and construction operations head-on. If you thrive on building seamless processes and leading teams that move mountains (and plenty of sand), this could be your next big move—with plenty of challenges and tangible impact.
About the Company
Shams Al Jubail isn’t your average contracting firm. Sure, we’ve got the heavy machinery, fleets of trucks, and investment in cutting-edge project management tools. But what really sets us apart is how we blend local know-how with a progressive spirit: we run lean, we adapt fast, and we actually celebrate a job well done. Our Mussafah-based team comes from all walks of life, and while our backgrounds are diverse, we’re united by a hands-on, solutions-first mentality. Weekly team lunches and open-door management are just part of how we keep communication flowing—and morale high.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Overseeing daily transportation and construction operations across multiple active sites in Mussafah and surrounding areas—no two days are quite the same.
- Leading, coaching, and motivating drivers, site managers, and dispatchers; you’re the go-to problem-solver and team advocate.
- Coordinating the movement and scheduling of our vehicle fleet, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Monitoring project timelines, flagging potential delays, and brainstorming workarounds before they become roadblocks.
- Liaising closely with clients, suppliers, and on-ground teams to keep information flowing smoothly and expectations aligned.
- Implementing operational best practices, with a keen eye on safety, quality, and compliance with UAE regulations.
- Reporting directly to leadership with regular updates and real-time insights—you’re trusted to help steer our growth.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- At least 1 year of operations management experience in the UAE, ideally within transportation or construction.
- Proven leadership chops—people trust you, listen to you, and rally around your direction.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; you’re fluent in speaking up and following through.
- Solid understanding of fleet management, logistics scheduling, and basic project coordination.
- Comfort with adapting to changing priorities and handling the unexpected (road closures, last-minute client requests—ring a bell?).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Formal education in engineering, logistics, or business (but real-world problem-solving counts for plenty here).
- Multilingual abilities—bonus if you can navigate local dialects and industry lingo.
- Familiarity with construction management software or fleet tracking tools.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Negotiable salary, with recognition for the expertise you bring.
- Team-centric culture where your voice counts and initiative is noticed.
- Opportunity to work on both transportation and landmark road construction projects across Abu Dhabi.
- Positive, straightforward leadership—no micromanaging, just clear expectations and support.
- Career growth potential as the company takes on new projects and expands regionally.
- Based in Mussafah with easy access and a friendly, down-to-earth crew.
Everyone at Shams Al Jubail contributes to a bigger picture; here, you’re not just filling a role, but helping build the roads and connections that move Abu Dhabi forward. If you’re ready to bring your operational smarts to a place where they’ll be valued every day, we can’t wait to meet you.
