What You’ll Be Doing
- Overseeing and coordinating HVAC quality control activities across diverse project sites—every day brings a different challenge.
- Conducting thorough inspections of HVAC systems, materials, and installations to ensure strict compliance with project specs and industry standards.
- Developing, updating, and maintaining comprehensive QA/QC documentation—think reports, checklists, and punch lists that actually get used.
- Working side-by-side with engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to troubleshoot issues before they become problems.
- Reviewing drawings and technical submittals, and giving feedback that steers the team in the right direction, not just ticking boxes.
- Participating actively in project meetings to represent the voice of quality amid diverse technical perspectives.
- Supporting site acceptance tests and ensuring snag lists are dealt with promptly and professionally.
- Helping to mentor junior QC staff and set a tone of excellence and learning on the job.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in HVAC Quality Assurance/Quality Control roles, ideally within large-scale construction or industrial projects.
- Solid understanding of industry codes, QA/QC processes, and hands-on inspection procedures for HVAC systems.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills (and yes, your attention to detail is above average).
- Ability to start immediately or with minimal notice.
Nice-to-Haves
- Exposure to ISO or similar quality management systems.
- Familiarity with digital QA documentation platforms or project management tools.
- Previous experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
