About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever pictured yourself as the welcoming face of a vibrant language institute? At English First Institute in Abu Dhabi, we’re searching for a Receptionist who takes pride in creating a smooth, inviting experience for our students, teachers, and guests. If you thrive on helping others, love keeping things humming along, and value a friendly, multicultural environment, this might be your perfect next step.

About the Company

At English First Institute, our passion is helping people unlock their potential through language. Walk through our doors, and you’ll notice the buzz of conversation, students from all walks of life, and a supportive team that genuinely roots for each other. We value professionalism, positivity, and kindness — whether it’s for a student nervous about their first class or a colleague needing a quick fix for the printer (yes, that happens). Our leadership is hands-on and approachable; Friday team lunches aren’t just a perk, they’re an institution.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greet and welcome every visitor and student with a warm, professional demeanor — you’re the face of our institute!
  • Efficiently manage incoming calls, emails, and appointments, directing queries to the right team members.
  • Maintain a tidy, organized reception area, ensuring it always feels inviting.
  • Assist in coordinating schedules and class information between students and teaching staff.
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and preparing documents.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries, making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Jump in to support staff with small projects or urgent needs — flexibility is part of our day-to-day.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic — you’ll be chatting with a wide range of people daily.
  • Confident computer skills, especially with MS Office (think Word for letters, Excel for records).
  • A neat, professional appearance and a consistently positive, can-do attitude.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or reception role (even just a few months is great).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience working in a school, institute, or multi-cultural environment.
  • An instinct for problem-solving and keeping cool when things get busy.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Supportive, diverse team that celebrates wins — and helps out when things get tricky.
  • Modern, comfortable workspace in Abu Dhabi’s heart, easy to reach by public transport.
  • Regular training sessions and ongoing opportunities to develop your skills.
  • Friendly environment with memorable team events — birthdays, holidays, or just because.
  • Competitive salary, plus end-of-year bonus and paid time off to recharge.

At English First Institute, you’re more than a receptionist — you’re a valued member of a close-knit team that’s serious about growth and good humor in equal measure. If you’re looking for a place where your organizational skills and sunny outlook will really matter, we can’t wait to meet you.

  • Our team values positivity and kindness, even on challenging days. Can you tell us about a time when your attitude helped keep things upbeat at work?
