About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever found yourself the calm in the middle of a busy auto shop, balancing friendly greetings with organized efficiency? At Smart Motor Auto Repair in Mussafah, we’re searching for an Arabic-speaking Receptionist cum Customer Service Executive to be the welcoming face and voice of our service center. If you thrive in fast-paced settings and genuinely love helping people — all while keeping your cool — this might just be your next role.

About the Company

Smart Motor Auto Repair is more than just a workshop; we’re a community staple in Abu Dhabi’s bustling Mussafah district. For years, we’ve earned our reputation through honest work, quick turnarounds, and treating customers like family. Teamwork gets us through the rush, and everyone—from technicians to the receptionist—plays a crucial role in our day-to-day wins. Fridays are for quick breakfast rundowns, and the latest car talk rarely leaves the shop floor.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greet walk-in customers with warmth, ensuring they feel welcome and heard right from the doorway
  • Answer incoming calls—sometimes back-to-back!—in both Arabic and English, handling inquiries with patience
  • Coordinate service appointments, making sure schedules run smoothly (and customers aren’t left waiting)
  • Keep track of vehicle status updates and proactively communicate with clients regarding service progress
  • Support technicians and management with clear, accurate relaying of customer requests
  • Maintain a tidy, inviting reception area (first impressions matter!)
  • Help out with light admin tasks: processing payments, updating records, and basic invoice prep
  • Jump in to resolve minor issues or escalate concerns—no two days are quite the same

What You’ll Bring

  • Must-Haves:

    • Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
    • Friendly, professional demeanor (even when it’s busy)
    • Customer service experience—bonus points if it’s in an automotive or service-based environment
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure
    • Comfortable with basic computers and MS Office tools
  • Nice-to-Haves:

    • Previous experience in a front desk or receptionist role
    • Familiarity with automotive terminology or service processes
    • A knack for diffusing tricky situations with a smile

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Clean, modern workspace in Mussafah with easy access and lots of friendly faces
  • Opportunities to grow your skill set and expand your role as the team (and company) grows
  • Blend of Arabic and English spoken daily (a real multicultural environment)
  • Supportive management invested in your career
  • Flexible leave, plus regular staff meals and the occasional cake to celebrate team wins
  • Uniform provided—we like to keep it professional yet comfortable

Our team is tight-knit, supportive, and genuinely cares about each other’s success. If you’re looking for a place where you can make a real impact on the customer experience—and not just answer phones—we think you’ll fit right in.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you share an example of how you provided excellent customer service in a busy environment, especially when several customers needed attention at the same time?
  • How do you ensure that appointments and service schedules run smoothly—and what tools or methods do you use to avoid double bookings?
  • Describe your experience handling inquiries and calls in both Arabic and English. How do you maintain professionalism and patient communication when the phones are non-stop?
  • Walk us through how you would handle a situation where a customer is frustrated because their vehicle service is delayed. How would you communicate updates and manage their expectations?
  • What basic administrative tasks have you handled in previous roles? Were you responsible for invoicing or processing payments before?
  • How familiar are you with automotive terminology or service processes? If you’re not, how would you approach quickly learning this language on the job?
  • Tell us about a time you had to relay a customer’s request accurately to a technical team. How did you ensure nothing got lost in translation?
  • On a particularly hectic day, how do you prioritize your tasks and keep from feeling overwhelmed?
  • Give an example of a small issue or conflict you solved on your own rather than escalating it. What did you do, and what was the outcome?
  • Our team culture relies on open, friendly communication and pitching in when someone needs help. How do you contribute to a positive work environment in your current or previous jobs?
  • Fridays are special for us, with casual team breakfasts and lively car discussions. What kinds of workplace traditions or team moments have you enjoyed or contributed to in the past?
  • What motivates you to stay calm, efficient, and courteous, especially when the reception area gets busy or unpredictable?
  • How do you keep your workspace organized and welcoming for both customers and colleagues?
  • Why do you think being the “first impression” matters so much in an auto service center, and how would you embody that in your role?

Market-Based Salary Overview and Analysis

For a receptionist cum customer service executive role in Abu Dhabi’s automotive sector, you should expect a salary in the range of 3,500–5,000 AED per month, especially with Arabic and English proficiency and some relevant experience. Similar roles in Mussafah and across the UAE typically fall within this bracket, with higher offers possible if you have a strong background in customer service or direct experience in the automotive industry. It’s reasonable to negotiate within this range, particularly if you bring excellent communication skills and can handle fast-paced, service-driven environments.
