About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever wondered what it’s like to be the friendly face everyone remembers? As the Receptionist at English First Institute, you won't just be manning the front desk—you’ll be the first impression, the calm problem-solver, and the go-to for both guests and colleagues. If you believe in the power of a warm welcome and keeping everything running smoothly, this could be the fresh start you’re looking for.

About the Company

English First Institute was founded on the idea that language learning transforms lives. Our community is made up of enthusiastic educators, ambitious learners, and a small but mighty support team (that could soon include you!). We thrive on trust, transparency, and maybe a little friendly banter when the front desk gets busy. While our students chase big goals, we make sure everyone—from teachers to visitors—feels right at home. Fridays are for coffee chats and shout-outs, not just deadlines.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greeting and welcoming all visitors, clients, and guests with professionalism and genuine warmth.
  • Managing incoming calls and directing them to the right team member without missing a beat.
  • Keeping the reception area inviting—think tidy counters, fresh magazines, and the occasional flower vase.
  • Coordinating appointments, managing schedules, and juggling meeting room bookings.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail, courier packages, and small deliveries.
  • Supporting a variety of administrative tasks, from data entry to light event coordination.
  • Being the eyes and ears for anything that might need attention—a flickering light, a coffee spill, or a lost student.
  • Lending a hand to the team when needed, because you’re a people person at heart.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • A confident, polished presence and cheerful, positive attitude.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills (English fluency is a must).
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to multitask gracefully.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing or reception role.
  • Basic comfort with MS Office or Google Workspace.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous experience in an educational or institute setting.
  • Interest in languages or multicultural environments.
  • A talent for remembering names and faces.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Supportive team culture—your effort doesn’t go unnoticed.
  • Central office location with easy access to public transportation.
  • Monday-to-Friday schedule—your weekends are yours.
  • Opportunities to join language classes or events (if that interests you!).
  • Casual Fridays and regular staff appreciation treats.
  • Growth potential for those interested in moving up or sideways in the organization.

At English First Institute, it’s not just about being at the desk—it’s about being at the heart of a friendly, dynamic, and purposeful place. We can’t wait to welcome you!
