About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Curious what it’s like to see your designs take real shape across Abu Dhabi’s evolving cityscape? At Superarc Consultant, we’re looking for a Road Design Engineer who’s ready to turn plans into reality — blending technical expertise with creativity to help shape fast-moving infrastructure. If you’ve honed your skills in the intricacies of road design and have become that go-to person for BIM solutions, we’d love to chat about your next career step.

About the Company

Superarc Consultant isn’t just another engineering firm — we pride ourselves on crafting infrastructure that drives communities forward. Nestled in Mussafah M6, our close-knit team brings together road design specialists, digital transformation enthusiasts, and problem-solvers who like a challenge. Fridays are for sharing project successes (and yes, sometimes breakfast from our favorite neighborhood bakery). Our culture? Open-door, ideas-welcome, and collaboration-first — we believe the best concepts can come from anyone.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing detailed road alignments, profiles, and cross-sections for key transportation projects across the UAE
  • Applying your BIM expertise to streamline design, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
  • Preparing and reviewing design drawings and project specifications using the latest industry software
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and authorities, ensuring designs are accurate and regulations are met
  • Attending site visits, providing technical input, and resolving design challenges as they arise
  • Mentoring junior engineers, swapping stories about unexpected site discoveries, and helping the team grow its digital capabilities
  • Staying current with new standards, materials, and best practices (you’re never done learning, right?)

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience delivering road design projects
  • Strong working knowledge of BIM applications (think: Revit, Civil 3D, or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills — you can convey complex ideas clearly with both colleagues and clients
  • Good problem-solving instincts and a flexible approach when you hit the occasional design curveball

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive compensation and annual bonus structure
  • Health insurance, because we care about your well-being
  • Flexible schedule and supportive environment for work-life balance
  • Office in Mussafah M6, with options for hybrid work once you’ve settled in
  • Ongoing training opportunities — BIM, leadership, even public speaking if you’re up for it
  • Friendly colleagues who appreciate your input and a culture that celebrates small wins (don’t be surprised by the occasional lunch order on the house)

Here, you’ll have the unique chance to help shape vital infrastructure alongside passionate teammates — and see your work make a real difference on the ground.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through your approach to designing road alignments and profiles for large-scale transportation projects?
  • What are the key considerations you keep in mind when developing cross-sections for urban versus rural roadways?
  • Tell us about your experience using BIM tools like Civil 3D or Revit for road design. Are there any features or workflows you’ve found particularly impactful in streamlining your process?
  • How do you ensure your design drawings and project specifications meet regulatory standards while still addressing the client’s needs?
  • Describe a time when you encountered a significant technical challenge on-site and how you resolved it.
  • When collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, how do you coordinate BIM models and manage updates or conflicts?
  • Have you ever mentored junior engineers or helped upskill a team in new digital tools? How did you approach that responsibility?
  • Tell me about a time you had to communicate complex design ideas to a non-technical client or stakeholder. What approach did you take?
  • How do you keep yourself updated on the latest road design standards or emerging materials, and how does that continuous learning show up in your work?
  • Give an example of a project where things didn’t go as planned. How did you pivot or adapt your plans to keep the project on track?
  • What draws you to collaborative team environments, and how do you contribute to a positive, open culture?
  • How do you maintain a good work-life balance in a fast-paced project environment?
  • At Superarc, sharing wins and lessons learned is part of the culture. Can you recall a moment when celebrating success or debriefing after a challenge contributed to team growth?
