About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever wondered what it’s like to shape the city skyline from the inside out? As a Structural Design Engineer with us, you won’t just review calculations all day—you’ll actually influence how Abu Dhabi is built. If you’re looking for a chance to make your mark with a tight-knit team in Mohammed Bin Zayed City (right near Mazyad Mall), this could be the next big step for your engineering career. Especially if you’re already up-to-speed on DMT regulations and itching for a new challenge.
About the Company
We’re a mid-sized, ambitious engineering firm that thrives on clever problem-solving and practical innovation. Our office is a stone’s throw from Mazyad Mall (yes, lunch options abound), and teamwork isn’t just a buzzword here—it’s how we get things done. Our leaders are accessible, and Friday mornings often turn into spontaneous brainstorming sessions over karak. We’re growing steadily, and every new teammate shapes our culture as much as our projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing structural systems for a variety of commercial and residential projects, always with DMT standards in mind.
- Reviewing and approving technical drawings and calculations before they leave the office.
- Coordinating closely with architects, contractors, and consultants—sometimes corralling everyone into the same Zoom call.
- Supervising design implementation on-site to ensure fidelity to your vision (and every regulation).
- Keeping up-to-date project documentation, because we know the devil’s in the details.
- Lending your expertise to help the firm maintain and renew its engineering classification.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience in structural design for DMT regulations—this isn’t your first Abu Dhabi rodeo.
- Holder of the Specialist Engineer classification (essential for firm classification compliance).
- Full-time availability for an immediate start, and residency transfer eligibility.
- Solid communication skills—clear, direct, and good with both written reports and in-person site chats.
- Attention to detail that borders on obsessive (and we mean that in the best way).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with both international and UAE building codes.
- Proficiency in structural design software—if you’re fast with ETABS or SAFE, even better.
- Experience with multidisciplinary coordination.
- A knack for training/mentoring junior engineers.
Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.
