What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
This is a hands-on role, so be prepared to get stuck in from the moment you clock in. Your day-to-day will revolve around:
- Surface Preparation: This is where the magic starts. You’ll be sanding, filling, and sealing wood to ensure a perfectly smooth canvas. Skipping corners here isn't an option—it’s the difference between a job that lasts and a job that embarrasses us.
- Spraying & Brushing: Applying primers, base coats, and topcoats using both conventional spray guns and manual brushwork for those intricate details that machines just can't handle.
- Polishing & Finishing: Expertly applying lacquers, polyurethanes, and waxes to achieve that deep, mirror-like sheen or a soft matte finish, depending on the client's request. This is where your 5+ years of experience really comes into play.
- Color Matching: Working with existing finishes or swatches to mix and match stains and paints perfectly. You’ll need an eye for tone and depth that goes beyond just picking a color code.
- Quality Assurance: Inspecting your own work (and sometimes the work of others) under good lighting to catch any runs, drips, or imperfections before the piece leaves the workshop.
What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

The Must-Haves:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working specifically with wood and furniture finishing here in the UAE. We need someone who knows the climate and the materials.
- Proven expertise in all stages of the finishing process, from stripping and sanding to final polishing. If you know your nitrocellulose from your polyurethane, we’ll get along great.
- An unyielding eye for detail. You notice the tiny air bubble in the finish before anyone else does—and it bothers you until it’s fixed.
- Immediate availability. The "Urgent" in the title isn't just for show. We need someone who can start within the next few days.
The Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working on high-end joinery or luxury villa fit-outs.
- A valid UAE driving license (it helps with site visits, though it's not a dealbreaker).
