What You’ll Be Doing
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to map out each project’s steps
- Measuring, cutting, and shaping aluminum sheets and extrusions with gear like saws, shears, and routers
- Assembling frames for windows, doors, curtain walls, or cladding—using both hand and power tools
- Installing finished products onsite, often collaborating directly with contractors or site supervisors
- Double-checking measurements and fits before final installation, because close isn’t close enough here
- Spot-checking your own work for quality, consistency, and craftsmanship
- Occasionally troubleshooting unexpected challenges on the fly—every site has its surprises!
- Maintaining a tidy, safe work area and helping out with equipment upkeep so the shop runs like clockwork
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
- Hands-on experience in metal or aluminum fabrication (ideally 2+ years, but attitude counts too)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints
- Skilled with both hand and power tools (we use everything from mitre saws to drills and riveters)
- A careful, detail-focused approach—accuracy matters in our line of work
- Basic math and measuring skills—enough to keep your cuts clean and your installs solid
- Commitment to safety, both for yourself and your teammates
- Good communication—you’ll work closely with others, in-shop and out on sites
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience installing architectural metalwork (windows, curtain walls, etc.)
- Familiarity with cladding or exterior panel systems
- Ability to weld or use specialized fabrication equipment
