What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
No two days are exactly the same in this role, and that’s part of the appeal. You'll be working alongside experienced technicians who will guide you as you learn the ropes. Here’s a taste of what you’ll get involved with:
- Assisting with installations – Helping mount and wire fire alarm panels, detectors, manual call points, and notification devices on active job sites. You’ll learn how to read layouts and work neatly with your hands.
- Testing and commissioning – Supporting the team during system testing, whether that’s checking continuity, testing batteries, or verifying that devices communicate with the main control panel. It’s detail-oriented work, but it’s satisfying when everything checks out.
