About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Introduction
Ever walked into a store and immediately felt the energy — the way the team moves, the way products are displayed, the way customers are greeted? That doesn't happen by accident. It takes a leader who knows how to orchestrate the details while keeping their eye on the big picture. If that sounds like you, we have an opening that might just be your next great chapter.
We're looking for an experienced Store Manager to take the reins at our location in Business Bay, Dubai. This isn't just about opening and closing the doors — it's about building a team, shaping an experience, and driving real results in one of the city's most dynamic retail hubs. If you thrive on variety, love developing people, and have a knack for making numbers move in the right direction, keep reading.
About the Company
We're a retail operation that believes in the power of personal connection — both with our customers and our people. While we've grown steadily over the years, we've kept that close-knit, "everyone knows your name" feel that makes coming to work genuinely enjoyable. Our team in Business Bay is a mix of long-timers and fresh faces, all united by a simple philosophy: do good work, treat people well, and have a little fun along the way.
You won't find a stuffy corporate culture here. What you will find is a supportive environment where your ideas actually get heard, where your team celebrates wins together (and occasionally brings in sweets on a Monday, just because), and where your growth is something we take seriously — not just a line in a handbook.
What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
- Lead the floor with intention — you'll oversee daily operations from opening to close, making sure everything runs smoothly, even when the unexpected happens (and in retail, it always does).
- Build and coach your team — this means hands-on training, regular one-on-ones, and knowing when to step in and when to step back so your staff can shine.
- Keep a pulse on sales performance — you'll track daily, weekly, and monthly targets, spot trends early, and adjust strategies on the fly to keep numbers heading north.
- Master inventory management — from stock counts to ordering to spotting slow movers, you'll keep the balance between "never out of stock" and "not drowning in excess."
- Create a customer experience people remember — you'll model what great service looks like, handle the tricky escalations with grace, and make sure every person who walks through the door feels valued.
- Handle the behind-the-scenes essentials — scheduling, visual merchandising standards, cash reconciliation, and all those little operational details that keep the store humming.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience as a Store Manager (or Assistant Manager ready to step up) in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong leadership instincts — you know how to motivate different personalities and get the best out of each person
- Solid grasp of sales metrics, inventory control, and basic financial reporting
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a nice bonus, but not essential)
- A customer-first mindset that never wavers, even on the busiest days
- Flexibility with working hours — retail life means weekends and holidays are sometimes part of the rhythm
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in fashion, luxury, or lifestyle retail
- Knowledge of POS systems and inventory management software
- A track record of improving store KPIs year-over-year
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you. Sometimes the best leaders bring unexpected strengths to the table.
Why You'll Love Working Here (Benefits & Perks)
- Competitive salary package that recognizes your experience and the value you bring
- Performance-based incentives — when the store wins, you win
- Health insurance coverage for you (and family options available)
- Annual leave that actually lets you recharge, plus public holidays
- Real career growth potential — we promote from within whenever we can, and we'll help you build the skills for that next step
- A team culture that doesn't take itself too seriously — yes, we work hard, but we also know how to laugh
- Staff discounts because you'll love the products (and your friends will love your shopping advice)
At the end of the day, this is more than a job — it's a place where your leadership actually matters, where your team looks to you for guidance and support, and where your efforts directly shape the store's success. If you're ready to bring your energy to Business Bay, we'd love to meet you.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you'd approach your first 30 days as Store Manager here in Business Bay. What would you prioritize first?
- Tell me about a time you turned around a store's declining sales. What did you spot early, and what specific actions did you take to reverse the trend?
- How do you balance inventory levels so you're never out of stock on bestsellers but also not sitting on excess that ties up cash? Give me a concrete example from your experience.
- Describe a situation where you had to coach a team member who was underperforming. How did you handle the conversation, and what was the outcome?
- A customer comes in furious about a return policy that they feel is unfair, and they're escalating quickly in front of other shoppers. How do you handle it on the spot?
- What's your approach to scheduling in retail? How do you keep the floor fully covered during peak hours while still respecting your team's work-life balance?
- Tell me about a time you had to adapt your leadership style to get the best out of someone who was very different from you — maybe more reserved, or more aggressive, or just wired differently.

- What role does visual merchandising play in driving sales, and how do you make sure your team stays consistent with it even when things get chaotic?

- What does "customer-first" actually look like in practice on a busy Saturday afternoon when you're short-staffed and the line is out the door?
- How do you handle a situation where a long-time employee resists a new process or system you're introducing
