About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements
Ever wondered what it takes to turn a set of drawings into a finished space people actually walk into and admire? We're a contracting company based in Sharjah, and we're looking for an Architectural Engineer or Architectural Site Supervisor who can make that happen on the ground — not just on paper. This isn't a desk job; it's a role for someone who knows finishing works inside out and takes real pride in seeing a project come together the right way. If that sounds like your kind of work, keep reading.
About the Company
We're a hands-on contracting outfit that has built its reputation on doing things properly — no shortcuts, no cutting corners on quality. Our team is small enough that everyone's contribution actually matters, but experienced enough to take on projects that keep us on our toes. Site visits, honest conversations, and getting the details right are just part of how we operate.
Most of our people have been with us for years, and there's a reason for that. We value supervisors who lead from the front, treat their workers with respect, and care about the finish as much as the client does. If you're looking for a place where your work is noticed and your judgment is trusted, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise day-to-day site activities and keep the work moving on schedule — you'll be the person who spots a problem before it becomes one.
- Oversee architectural finishing works, from plastering and tiling to painting and final detailing, making sure every surface meets the standard we've set.
- Coordinate and lead site workers, assigning tasks clearly and stepping in when things need sorting out.
- Monitor work quality against drawings and specifications — if something's off, you'll catch it and get it fixed.
- Keep an eye on project timelines and flag delays early so we can plan around them, not react to them.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and clients on site, keeping communication clear and straightforward.
- Maintain daily site reports and documentation so everyone knows where things stand.
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves:
- At least 2 years of experience in the UAE — you know how sites here operate and what's expected.
- Solid hands-on experience with architectural finishing works and site supervision.
- The ability to lead and supervise workers confidently and fairly.
- A sharp eye for quality and a genuine commitment to meeting deadlines.
- A personal car — you'll be moving between sites, and we need you to be mobile.
- A valid UAE driving licence.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with Sharjah and the surrounding areas.
- Experience coordinating with multiple subcontractors at once.
Not sure you tick every box? We'd still love to hear from you — attitude and site sense often matter more than a perfect checklist.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- A straightforward, no-drama team culture where good work speaks for itself.
- Real responsibility from day one — you won't be micromanaged, but you'll always have support when you need it.
- Varied projects that keep the work interesting and your skills sharp.
- A competitive package that reflects your experience, with room to grow as the company does.
- A team that respects your time, your judgment, and your weekends.
We're not promising corporate perks and ping-pong tables — we're offering solid work, fair treatment, and a team that has your back. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and take ownership of your sites, you'll feel at home here.
Common Interview Questions and Tips
To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.
- Walk me through how you'd approach supervising a finishing package—say, plastering through to final paint—on a live site. What are the checkpoints you'd set, and what would make you stop work and push back?
- Say the drawings call for one tile layout but the substrate on site won't allow it without extra prep. How do you handle that—who do you talk to, and how do you keep the schedule from slipping?
- What's your process for inspecting finishing work before you sign off on it? Give me a specific example of a defect you caught that others had missed.
- How do you keep daily site reports useful rather than just paperwork? What actually goes into yours, and who reads them?
- Tell me about a time a subcontractor's work fell short of the spec. What did you do, and what was the outcome?
- You notice a delay brewing—materials haven't arrived and the crew's standing idle. Walk me through what you do in the first hour.
- How do you balance pushing a crew to hit a deadline with keeping morale and quality intact? Give me a real example.
- Describe how you assign tasks to workers at the start of a shift. How do you make sure instructions are understood, especially with mixed-language crews?
- Why contracting and site supervision rather than a design-side role? What keeps you on site?
- Tell me about a disagreement you had with a project manager or client over site quality. How did you handle it, and would you do anything differently?
- What does "doing it properly, no shortcuts" mean to you in practice on a finishing job? Where's the line you won't cross?
- You'll be moving between sites across Sharjah and the surrounding areas. How do you manage your time and stay on top of multiple sites in a day?
