About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Introduction

Ever wake up and feel like the work you do actually leaves a mark on the world? As a Mason with our team, you won’t just be laying bricks—you’ll be building the literal framework of communities across the UAE. We’re looking for experienced hands who take pride in a straight line and a solid structure. This isn’t a desk job; it’s a craft, and we’re offering a steady position with immediate start for those ready to get stuck in.

About the Company

We’re a growing construction firm that’s carved out a reputation for delivering quality work on time, without cutting corners. While we’re not the biggest name in the game, that’s exactly how we like it—it means you’re not just a number on a payroll. Our crews are tight-knit, the supervisors know your name by the second day, and the work is varied enough to keep your skills sharp. We believe in doing things properly, which is why we look after the people who make that happen.

What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities)

If you’ve got a trowel in your hand, we’ve got a wall for you to raise. Here’s a snapshot of your day-to-day:

  • Laying brick, block, and stone with precision—plumb lines, level courses, and clean joints are non-negotiable.
  • Reading blueprints and sketches to translate plans into physical form, making sure measurements line up before the mortar sets.
  • Tying and placing steel reinforcement (rebar) for columns, beams, and slabs—because a structure is only as strong as its skeleton.
  • Mixing mortar and grout to the right consistency, and keeping your workspace clean enough that a site inspector wouldn’t blink twice.
  • Collaborating with the crew to hit daily targets, whether that means shoring up a foundation or finishing a parapet wall before the sun gets too brutal.

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications)

We’re not looking for someone who needs hand-holding. We need a pair of hands that already know the trade inside out.

Must-Haves:

  • Proven experience as a Mason and steel fixer—if you’ve got a portfolio or references, even better.
  • Ability to read basic drawings and follow verbal instructions without needing a repeat.
  • Physical stamina for 10-hour shifts in outdoor conditions; this job is honest work, and it can be tough.
  • A valid passport and ready to join immediately—visa processing is on us, but you need to be available now.
  • Your own safety boots and basic hand tools (we’ll supply the rest).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with decorative brickwork or exposed concrete finishes.
  • A GCC or UAE construction background, though it’s not a dealbreaker.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you—if you’re a fast learner with a strong work ethic, that counts for a lot.

Why You’ll Love Working Here (Benefits & Perks)

Let’s be straight—this isn’t a job that comes with a gym membership or a ping-pong table. The perks here are practical, and they matter more on a construction site:

  • Salary of AED 1,200 with overtime paid at AED 4.50 per hour after the standard 10-hour day. If you’re willing to put in the extra hours, the pay packet reflects it.
  • Free accommodation and transport to and from the site—no haggling with taxis or burning your own fuel money.
  • Visa sponsorship handled by us, so you can focus on the work, not the paperwork.
  • A stable pipeline of projects—we’re not a fly-by-night operation, and we keep our crews busy year-round.

At the end of the day, you’ll go home tired but knowing you’ve earned your wage. If that sounds like your kind of gig, let’s talk.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Walk me through your experience as a mason—what's the most complex or challenging structure you've had to build from start to finish, and how did you approach it?
  • When you're laying a long wall, how do you maintain a perfect plumb line and level course over the entire length, especially in harsh sun or windy conditions?
  • Can you describe a time when you had to read a blueprint and catch a discrepancy before the mortar was mixed? What did you do about it?
  • Steel fixing is a big part of this role. How do you ensure rebar is tied correctly for columns and beams, and what's your process for checking that it's up to spec before concrete is poured?
  • What's your method for mixing mortar to the right consistency on a hot day? How do you adjust when the weather changes mid-shift?
  • Tell me about a project that involved decorative brickwork or exposed concrete finishes. What made it tricky, and how did you pull it off?
  • Describe a time when you had to work with a crew member who wasn't pulling their weight or was doing sloppy work. How did you handle it without causing friction?
  • Imagine you're halfway through a foundation pour and realize the rebar layout is off by a couple of inches. The supervisor is pressuring you to keep moving. What do you do?
  • Give me an example of a time you had to adapt quickly to a change in plans on site—maybe a design tweak or a material shortage. How did you pivot?
  • What does a safe, organized workspace look like to you? Walk me through your end-of-shift routine.
  • This job involves ten-hour days in outdoor conditions, sometimes with brutal heat. How do you keep your energy and focus up through the last hour of a shift?
  • We're a tight-knit crew where supervisors know your name by day two. What kind of team environment brings out your best work?
  • Why are you looking to join
