About the Role: Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements

Ever built something with your hands and felt a quiet pride seeing others enjoy it every day? That’s the kind of fulfillment awaiting our next Carpenter as we expand our hotel properties in the vibrant Jumeira district of Dubai. This isn’t just any run-of-the-mill carpentry gig — we're crafting exceptional guest experiences from the ground up, one piece of exquisite woodwork at a time. If you find satisfaction in precision joinery and love seeing your craftsmanship woven into high-end hospitality spaces, we’d love to meet you.

About the Company

We’re a rapidly growing hospitality group, and every new property in our portfolio is designed with care — and a distinct sense of place. Our teams are a blend of go-getters and perfectionists who love transforming blueprints into unforgettable stays. You’ll fit right in if you geek out over the grain of walnut or secretly critique trimwork everywhere you go. By the way, team breakfasts are a tradition here (carpenters definitely welcome at the table).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Measuring spaces and materials to exacting standards — accuracy here makes all the difference.
  • Cutting, shaping, and assembling wood for a range of projects, from bespoke headboards to functional shelving.
  • Installing wooden fixtures and panels throughout our hotels, with a craftsman’s attention to detail.
  • Carrying out furniture works — think custom pieces that wow our guests.
  • Handling repairs and routine maintenance of in-room and public-area woodwork so everything looks (and works) its best.
  • Finishing wood surfaces — sanding, staining, painting, or varnishing, depending on the project’s needs.
  • Collaborating with designers, contractors, and other trades to deliver seamless fit-outs.
  • Following safety guidelines and best practices to keep yourself and your team in top shape.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves

  • Solid experience as a carpenter, especially in hotels, luxury residences, or commercial fit-outs.
  • Skilled in measuring, cutting, assembling, installing, and finishing wood and wood-based materials.
  • Knowledge of proper construction and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with a range of power and hand tools relevant to the trade.
  • An eye for detail and pride in producing flawless, high-quality work.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Previous Dubai hotel or hospitality project experience.
  • Ability to read technical drawings or blueprints.
  • Comfortable collaborating with multi-trade teams in fast-paced environments.

Not sure you tick every box? We’d still love to hear from you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive salary and overtime compensation.
  • All necessary tools and materials provided — just bring your skill.
  • A supportive, hands-on team that values good work (and good humor).
  • Steady pipeline of diverse projects — no two days or sites are the same.
  • Opportunities for professional growth as our group expands.
  • Safety-first culture with regular training and recognition.
  • Convenient Jumeira location, easily accessible from across Dubai.
  • Did we mention the team breakfasts and the occasional post-shift tea?

Your work will be seen, admired, and appreciated — by our guests and your teammates alike. If you’re ready to help build the next landmark on Dubai’s skyline (and leave your mark in every grain), this might just be the perfect spot for you.

Common Interview Questions and Tips

To help you prepare and feel confident, here are some questions you might encounter during the interview process for this role.

  • Can you walk us through a past project where you crafted custom wood furniture or fixtures for a hotel or luxury property? What were the main challenges and how did you ensure everything met high standards?
  • If handed a set of blueprints or technical drawings for guest room millwork, how would you approach understanding and translating those into on-site carpentry work?
  • Describe your process for measuring and preparing materials when accuracy is absolutely critical. How do you double-check your work to avoid costly mistakes?
  • What types of finishing techniques (sanding, staining, varnishing, etc.) have you mastered, and how do you decide which to use for a particular project or wood type?
  • How do you maintain and safely operate a range of carpentry tools, both hand and power? Can you give an example of how tool choice affected your efficiency or quality on a recent job?
  • Tell us how you handle urgent repairs or routine maintenance of existing woodwork in a busy hospitality setting. How do you make sure the fixes are both functional and visually seamless?
  • Describe a time you collaborated with a designer or another trade (like electricians or plumbers) on a fit-out project. How did you keep communication smooth and the worksite coordinated?
  • In high-pressure situations, like tight deadlines or last-minute design changes, how do you prioritize tasks and maintain your attention to detail?
  • Have you ever identified an opportunity to improve a design or installation that wasn’t in the original scope? How did you present your suggestion to the team or client?
  • Carpenters here sometimes start their mornings over breakfast with the crew. How do you typically build camaraderie and trust among your teammates on a new project?
  • Our projects often combine creativity with precision. How do you balance the need to showcase craftsmanship with the requirement to deliver work that is functional and durable for daily hotel use?
  • What motivates you in your carpentry career, particularly when you see guests and colleagues interacting with the spaces you’ve helped create?
  • Safety is
